Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

The Dream Begins... Excited To Join The Family!

Greetings Full Timers both in dreams and reality!  We are still in the dream stage.  I have actually been reading RV-Dreams since 2005! At that time we had a huge 38' fiver, and loved recreating in it. We are now loving a beautiful, surprisingly comfortable 2010 Lance camper but know that it will not fit the bill for when we "launch" our escape.  We LOVE taking off on our several day "mini-escapes" and dream of the day we can do more.

Youngest of 4 kids graduates from High School this week and we take satisfaction in the knowledge that it marks another milestone in our list of goals toward full-timing.  We have a lovely home in Washington State that we have some ideas about as a future base, maintained by one of the kids' and their family (impossible to consider real estate transactions in the near future).

Anyway! HELLO! Really excited to "be here" :)

Theresa,

Welcome to the forum. We have lots of family in Washington state, Vancouver and Spokane specifically.

We started out in a cab over camper when the kids were small. It was great for the weekend getaways and family vacations.

Hello and Welcome,
We are in Washington State as well. Olympia is where our home is. Everyone here is so helpful. But you already know that.

Where in Washington state?
Olympia is my home town. My mother is now in Tumwater and we will be making a one day stop to see her tomorrow on our way to Eugene, Oregon. We have already stopped a week in May and will be stopping for more one to two week stops during the summer. We stay at Outback in Rochester since we are not impressed with the closer choices.

My wife was born in Seattle so we are both Washington natives. We met in Richland, so we even know the dry side of the state.

Thanks to all of you for your kind remarks.

We are in SW Washington State (La Center) near Portland, OR. I made the mistake of going online and ogling the new 5ers and the updates they have made in the last few years since we bought ours new in 2005 (we no longer own it, as I mentioned, we have a truck camper for now for short trips).

WOW they have made some outstanding improvements, and many that I had thought of when we had ours have come to pass. How exciting! Really cool stuff.

We may decide to purchase a new 5er well ahead of our "launch date" because we are constantly in so much need of extra living space for visitors and when the kids are over. The prices are very tempting with the economy like it is. We miss having the "apartment" out on our RV parking pad (complete with full hookups). It would be an "easy sell" to my husband to talk about shopping for our new 5th wheel. Still have our wonderful hitch that we paid so much for before... Just have to bolt it back into the truck!!

Hmmmm... Now you've got me thinking... :)
