Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Took the 5fer out this weekend and plugged into the park 30 amp outlet, but the trailer battery was drained down constantly. checked park plug ,, good 30 amps,,, but most of the lights were going dim,, but other things worked great, like microwave and some of the outlets and 1 or 2 lights, but battery drain down, lucky I had 2 batteries and a charger and made it through the weekend. What could be the issue? breakers and fusses seem good.
Check the input power connection to your charger/converter and also check the output connection. Every once in a while the wire nuts on these connections will loosen or get corroded. Causes exactly what you are describing.
Or there may be a separate breaker that has tripped for the converter/charger circuit. On my fifth wheel this is a small black plastic device about 1 1/2 inch long. It has a micro switch you push to reset it. Mine is located near the battery disconnect for the main house batteries. There are four breakers one for the converter charger, one for the landing gear and 1 each for the 2 slideouts. The only one that ever trips is the Converter/Charger when my wife tries to use too many appliances at once.
