Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are travelling from Flagstaff to Glenwood Springs, Co to visit our son. I've not travelled this area before and want to avoid any area's where extreme grades or hair pin curves might be an issue.
Initially I was going up 89N (stay at the KOA in Moab,UT) to US-160 to US-191 to 70 but there looks to be some tough grades based on the Midwest Mountain Directory I have.
Then I thought US89 (stay at the KOA in Richfield,UT) to I70. A little longer but more Interstate and finally I thought I40 East to 160N to 70Wwhich is really out of the way but less time overall in the mountains and steep grades.
Any suggestions from anyone that has pulled in this area?

Only real grade you have to be concerned with is the pull out of Moab. It can get your attention really quickly. But, with the Cummins and your RV, not an issue. I have pulled it several times with my Ford F-250 and our 35 ft Mobile Scout (Sunnybrook). After Moab, IH70 has some pulls, but they tend to be long and gradual. From Grand Junction to Glenwood is mostly flat, a couple of hills at Parachute, but that is all. I do not remember anything from Flagstaff to Moab being of concern. I lived for ten years at Grand Junction. The first time we pulled out of Moab was in the early 50s, when the uranium mining was in full swing. We made the pull behind an ore truck with the driver standing on the runningboard of the truck and a stick on the throttle. 2 to 4 miles per hour, and us with a 40 ft mobile home behind a 1951 Hudson Hornet pulling it. Now that was fun.
