Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Millenicom stops Advanced Plan

Millenicom's advanced plan (Verizon 3G 20 GB/month) disappeared from their website a few days ago. Upon asking, they said they had a few plans left to sell, so I bought one of them. I thought I share that because the Advanced Plan used to be pretty popular.

It is a shortage of the hardware that is stopping the plan for now. If they can get more USB modems they will again sell it. I hope that is true since it is a great plan and the service is solid. Stopping and starting the plan is still OK if you already have one of the modems.

Good to know. I have been using this for over a year now and for me(and most others who have it) it is the best internet option for fulltiming. Thanks Bill for the clarification.

Who knows what will be available in a few months since technology moves fast. Something better could easily be around by then. Worry about what you can control yourself and roll with what you can't control yourself.

I just signed up for (it shipped today) their 3G/4G hotspot. It's 20GB in 3G service areas or 10GB in 4G areas or a combination of 10GB in 4 plus 10 more in 3G.
I should have the unit in a few days and I will cancel my Verizon service.
More news later.

Please do let us know how that goes.  We tried that plan back in November, and found the Samsung Hotspot to be quite unstable and annoying.  Seems our problems were not isolated either, and neither Samsung or Millenicom could resolve the issues (after many hours on the phone with both).

Here's our post about it:

Technomadia Tech Update – The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

If the hardware issues have been solved, we'd love to jump back on this plan as well.  We eneded up sending the unit back and re-activating our Advanced Plan.

Rats; that's what we were going to have as well. We decided it would be better than the unlimited plan (which is Sprint) due to slightly better coverage; but if the Advanced is gone I guess it will have to be the Unlimited for us.

I've emailed them to see if they have any hardware left; if so I'll just order now and not actually activate it until June when we need it.
