Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Ours has been kept in the pickup bed. We have a Honda EU3000IS, which is bigger than the 2000. In the past, we used security cables with loops at the ends and padlocks to lock each handle of the generator to the tie-down loops in the truck bed. On one side of the generator, we would sit our two 5-gal cans and run that security cable through the handles of the cans.
Should we do what we are planning now, that being getting a combination tool-box/fuel tank that would go right behind the cab, we'll have to change where we place our generator. As for the gas cans, those will still be kept in the bed of the truck. I wouldn't want one to leak fumes and that get to the furnace or hot water heater and turn our fifth wheel into a big cigarette lighter.

Thanks Terry, you always come to my rescue! :)
That is what I figured. I am going to store the Generator in the garage of the fiver, but it has a shut off on the top of the jenny for fumes.

We store the 5 gallon plastic gas jug in the pickup bed.
By the way, even though the gas cap on the genny has a shut off you will still get some gas smell. It's not bad and may not be noticeable in a large garage area of a 5th wheel. I have put the Honda 2000 in the cab at night for safe keeping and the next morning when I open the truck door you get a gas smell.
I also keep it in a delivery van and will get a gas smell when I open the door even after several days of non-use.

Yep, that is what we used to do with Genny when we had our pull behind trailer. May just keep doing that I suppose.
