Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Our RV is just a minnie winnie, but that counts, right? I am from Texas, my husband is from Washington. We have a house in both places, but spend most of our time in WA. Some day, we want to cross the country in our Griswold-mobile. We are no where near retirement, so it could be a while.
To tell you how much we DON'T get to use it, it is a '99 and only has 37k miles on it. Ouch! In 2009, we started to redo the inside. I don't like all the brass and blue/mauve wall colors, etc, but we had a leak in the floor and that started the demolition.
We traded leather furniture (we had tons of this furniture) to have someone put in wood floors, granite and redo the entire shower and bath. Then traded more for a friend of his to come in and paint it to make it look like the inside of a real home. WOW -- what a difference. Got a quote on reupholstery - they wanted over $2k. NOT. So, got online did some research and my husband bought me an air compressor to work with a staple gun. Bought faux leather and went to town on my sewing maching -- never before have I reupholster anything before. But I have to say, it is the most beautiful RV I have ever seen. Wish I could share the pics with you guys somehow -- kind of new at this. And I am not done yet. I keep finding little things to make it a little better, like an electric fireplace. That is how I stumbled upon this great site, researching on how to put one in. I will make it happen this year or next.
Thanks for your time. I love reading the posts! Great info!
Welcome folks. Funny but we were going to get a new license plate for our MH. We were going to get GRZWLDS. thought that would be pretty cool. Havent done it yet.
Welcome aboard

Thanks. I actually have the words "The Griswolds" on the back window of the RV. We get several honks and thumbs up about it. If you knew my husband, you would know why I use 'Griswold' HA. Christmas Vacation --- he is Clark!
Allow me to also welcome you to the RV Dreams forums. If you are looking for answers, there are folks here with just about every kind of RV, so someone ought to be able to answer your questions.
Kudos on doing a complete remodel on your Winnie. That is a skill that I certainly don't have.
Terry

You sound like us in customizing an RV. I've recovered the window treatments, sewed bedspreads, moved or exchanged furniture etc. It is fun to "make them yours".
