Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Well, I listed my home for sale in preparation for full time RVing and have an offer pending...hope to close by Feb. at the latest.
It will be just a little longer though before I begin my full time RV lifestyle. My 13 old son and I are going to be riding our bikes across the country in memory of my brother who we lost to cancer in 2002.
I will likely be staying with a friend from the time my home sells until we begin our ride. Once our ride is complete then we will enter the full time RV lifestyle.
Our trip is 4,254 miles...if you see us on the road please say hi!
How will you recognize me? Just look for the 13 year old riding with the guy with the long beard! You see, I have made an agreement with my son that I won't shave until we finish our ride!
To follow us on our ride, visit our blog....we will be updating it daily during our ride with location, photos and videos! Again....please honk or say hi if you see us on the road this summer! Our blog is Ask me About my Beard.
That sounds amazing, you and your son will create memories that will last a life time. I know your brother will be Proudly watching both of you.....Gene

What a great thing to do! I've added a link from my blog to your blog and I will be following your journey. I will also return to your blog and make a donation to your trip. Such a Coollllllllllll thing to do!
What a fantastic journey! Wishing you both all of the best... any many memories to be made.
Have you connected with the Vogel family? They biked all over America for nearly a year.. and then went from Alaska to Argentina with their 2 pre-teen twin sons. www.familyonbikes.com is where they blog at... they may have some tips and information to share with you. They even have a book out now about their American roadtrip.
dannick, looks like you will be coming right past us. Don't know when you will pass through SW Missouri, but be sure to let us know when you're in the area. If schedules permit you are welcome to spend a night or two with us.
My husband and I are new to the forum, we have been poking around for awhile soaking in all the stories and advice. I happened on this thread today and wanted to say that I am super excited for you and your son!! What an awesome thing to be able to do. I added a link to your blog to our Facebook page to share with our friends. I look forward to following your travels! Best of luck, be safe and congrats!!
