Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We're looking for a used travel trailer with an interior height that I can fit in...I'm 6'9”. I have come across a few types that have a tall interior, but I can't seem to find a list of models and Years they started making the interior higher. This would facilitate the search. When I call the manufacturers and tell them what I want, somehow I get lost on hold. We are also looking for a TT with beds at both ends. I use a cpap machine and my wife is a light sleeper so normally we have separate bedrooms for sleeping in a house. Probably can't find two actual bedrooms, but a bedroom at one end and a sleeping couch at the other. And finally, want the TT not to be so long that we can't take it into parks. So, that's the WISH list...any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!
I believe you want to look at 1998 to current years for more interior height.
Your best bet may be a toyhauler type TT. They tend to have higher ceilings and the bedroom in the front. It would be easy to convert the garage area to a bedroom for the rear.
Have you thrown out 5th wheels as a choice. Many 5th wheel models have higher ceilings. And some have front and rear bedrooms or toyhauler garage that can be converted.
Ours has a front bedroom and we use the sofa in the living room for a friend that uses a CPAP. There is a cushion of a closet and the bathroom between the sofa area and our bedroom area, so noise is not a problem. She says the sofa is very comfortable. Due to the design it's about the size of a single bed. Eventhough it's a sofa sleeper, we don't fold it out. Most of our company find it's more comfortable to sleep on it as a sofa rather than folded out into a bed. By not folding it out we have plenty of room to get by and use the rest of the 5th wheel while she is in bed.
By the way, just the need for two separate bedrooms will mean you'll need a longer trailer. It takes space to have a kitchen, living area, bathroom and one bedroom - 18ft to 30 ft. Once you add a second bedroom you are in the 25 to 35ft range at minimum.

We have talked about 5th wheels. Just worried about the size to get into parks, etc. Plus buying a dually truck for 40-50 grand is out of the budget. My wife is the long sleeper so she would get the bedroom. Toy-hauler is an intreging Idea. We have also thought of a hybrid...the ones with solid wall bed slides. However, the few used ones that I have seen have too short of an interior height. The complexities of this treasure hunt is amazing.
