Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
My wife Patty and I (Mark) have been planning our fulltime RV life for the past 4 years. Our target start time in mid 2012, next year. Both of us just retired last month and are working to complete updates to our house so we can put it on the market by the end of January 12.
One of planning efforts was to attend the RV-Dreams rally in April in TN which we did. We had the best time and met wonder people.

Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.
Welcome Mark and Patty! Your schedule is just about the same as ours. Going live in 2012!!! This is a good place to get the info you need to go on the road.
I had to chuckle a little reading the header on your post. DW and I did the same thing for the last 6 years. She would always tell me "work the plan" and that's what we did. She got laid off last summer and I left my job in October. The house was already sold and we were living in the 5th wheel when her work dropped the bomb so we decided to move our fulltiming up from 2015 to this year. We left Indiana in October and are work camping in Texas as gate guards for an oil drill rig. We have a more conventional work camping gig back in Indiana for next summer then who knows? Love how plans work out!
Good luck on selling the house and "keep working the plan"!
Phil

Welcome folks. I always find it interesting to see the events that lead up to either FT or EXTENDED. I can identify with most of the situations. My wife and I discuss full timing vs extended travel almost weekly. I'm about 36 months from retirement. We take several shorter trips during the season and at least one longer trip to Michigan to see my daughter and 5 grandkids. Good luck and enjoy the folks here. They are excited to help. Best to you both.

Congrats Mark and Patty. Keep the dream alive. Your wait time will slip away faster than you can imagine. We are all part of the class of 2012 - meaning we are graduating to a new way of living.
