Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Found this site and had to join. My husband and I moved into a 30' 5th wheel in July 2011. Right now we aren't traveling, but living in an RV park. We purchased and lost a business all in a year, and everything else we owned within the next year, so don't have the funds to travel at this time. (That will come when a job comes along.) We're just thankful to have a roof over our heads!! This is a whole new learning curve though, and sure glad for all the different posts here to help us along.

Welcome to the RV Dreams forums, Nancy. This is a site with a lot of knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful folks. Sorry to hear about all your difficulties with your business and all, and we are hopeful that things improve for you soon.
Feel free to ask questions and never have the thought that a question might be a dumb one. The only dumb questions are the ones that are NOT asked and thus receive no answer.
In reference to another of your posts, look at the Open Range H396RGR as a toy hauler fifth wheel. That one is nice in that it even has a separate bathroom for the garage area. I'm not sure whether that bathroom has a shower, but it does look like it has a sink and commode.
Enjoy the research and planning and the RV lifestyle.
Terry

You will find this a comfortable place to learn and share. An amazing amount of info is here. We full-time but are unable to hit the road just yet, because the sale of our business fell through and selling it in this economy will be very, very difficult. We may just walk away and sell the equipment,I don't know. What I do know is that in 40+ years of self-employment,we have had failure as well as prosperity. The failure is painful, but can be eased greatly by planning for the future. We've been married for 43 yrs and worked together every day,as well. If your personal relationship is good, you'll be fine.Keep moving forward. That is essential! You will encounter self-reliant and resourceful people here. Welcome.

We closed our franchise restaurant business last summer that we had operated for six years. As has been mentioned, it's hard to sell a business in this economy, especially one that was losing money as ours was. We lost all that we had invested and went through all of our savings to try and keep it afloat. We were able to hang onto our house and avoid bandruptcy, so we are very thankful. Luckily I have my military retirement and healthcare as we start over.
Good luck to you as you enter into a new season of your life. Keeping things in perspective will help you as you move forward. Material things are just that, things, and are less important than the relationships that you have.
