Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
My wife Carolyn and myself (Mike) and our 2 furry kids began the full time life last June. We purchased a 37' 05 Diesel pusher by Fleetwood and a 04 Jeep Liberty as our toad.
We have spent the summer as seasonal residents and PT hosts at Memorial Park on Lake Superior near Washburn WI. The summer was needed to ready ourselves and rig for travel and life on the road.
We will leave here this Friday, Sept. 16th. Our first stop will be Red Lodge MT. kicking off a planned western swing that includes Glacier Park, Seattle, Pacific Coast Highway, etc. To a winter stay in Tucson AZ.
Congratulations. Sounds like some good planning. Keep us posted. Hopefully we will be following soon as we hope to winter in AZ next winter. Did you discover something that you hadn't thought about to begin with? Any other tips?
That is awesome. We just got a contract on our house and will be moving into the 5er in Oct. at a local rv park. My husband is still working and I am still babysitting for the local grandkids but we plan to do a little traveling locally for now.
we need to get out west though ( we are in Florida) to see our son, daughter in law and granddaughter in northern CA so maybe we will cross paths!
By "Pacific Coast Highway" do you mean US101 (and maybe CA-1 in California)? Hopefully you don't mean "I-5" which is far inland of the coast, though not really that bad a road.
Anyway it sounds like your trip south is on vacationer timing. It is cooling off here in Washington state, a lot, so I expect Montana to be even cooler. We hope to be heading south about the end of the month.

Good job. Our 5th wheel shows up next week and we expect to be on the road by the 2nd week of October. Once we launch we'll give you a shout and compare notes.

I want to add another "way to go!" Spent late fall last year in that Red Lodge area and it was absolutely gorgeous! I had a little melt down as we left just thinking that I would have missed all that beauty had we not chosen this fulltime dream. We will be Arizona bound for winter also. Enjoy!
Bill, We will be staying a bit in West Seattle. Our Sister-in-law will serve as a local guide. Her driveway and neighborhood is totally out of bounds for us. We will need either an RV park or a parking spot. We will visit some of the local spots with our Jeep.

West Seattle is really tough since there are no campgrounds close by for any price. The closest I know of would be Salt Water State Park in Des Moines and the KOA (expensive) in Kent, both good drives. Maybe the lousy campground in Bellevue that is mostly permanents would also work. If you were an Elk the lodge in Burien has hookups. There are no casinos close by either. Our favorite campground in the area, Lake Pleasant in Bothell, is too far away to be useful. Hopefully you can find something.

Thanks Bill, Doesn't sound to positive. We are starting to research much earlier because of your heads up. By the way one of my closest friends is also named Bill Joyce. Just a coincidence I'm sure. :)
