Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

We are now fulltiming

My dh and I, plus our 2 mini schnauzers, are now in a rv park and experiencing fulltiming. To everyone that has read my blog Im sorry I haven't had time to keep up with it, will do tomorrow. Our trip to fulltiming has been a very short journey. I started reading about fulltiming in June of this year and we are now here. We was renting a s/b house but the rent was high and things kept breaking, plus I was tired of packing and moving every year. We bought an 87 prowler tt that had alot of leaks and had to be completely redone, we began work july 7-8, its not completely finshed but just minor things now. When I put in our 30 notice July 15th we was on a schedule to have the remodeling done around Aug 10th, but our landlord had other ideas. He found new renters that needed to move in Aug.1  doh. My parents came to help us and I thank god they did or I dont know what I would have done. We live in Oklahoma and the heat has been a contant battle plus sorting, packing, selling, donating, and begging people to take our stuff lol. So after working around the clock for about 2 weeks we are now adjusting to living in our tt. Im still in the process of learning how all this is suppose to go, so if anyone has any tips or suggestions for me I would be so glad to hear them. Also I will be laid off as of Monday so Im sure you will see many more posts from me in the future. Thanks for reading and god bless, oh yea try to stay cool.biggrin

Savanna,

Cool????   What is that????

Jo and I are also Okies, living in Oklahoma City.  We welcomed you in your introductory post, but at the time, I didn't know you were fellow Okies.  Where in Oklahoma are you located?

Also, in regards to blogging, I found that Microsoft's Live Writer is very helpful with writing and inserting pictures.  I generally use Microsoft Word for my first draft because it has more "tools" than Live Writer.  Then I "copy and paste" from Word to Live Writer, size the font, add pictures, and then "Publish" to the blog.  I also "copy and paste" from Live Writer with the photos inserted back to Microsoft Word so that I can then save Word on my hard drive where I want them.  (Live Writer doesn't give one the option of where to save the files.)

Anyway, good luck with beating the heat, finishing the remodel, and adjusting to the new lifestyle.

Terry

Thanks for the tips Terry, I will check that out sounds alot simpler. We were in Norman but are in Newcastle now. You understand this crazy heat then. Have you by chance been to Camping World up off Reno? Im gonna go check it out soon seems like they have alot of neat stuff.

Savannah,

Yes, we've been to Camping World.  They do have some things that we can't find elsewhere, such as a wide selection of small BBQ grills, but (and that's a big BUT), their prices are a bit high.

We ordered our Mobile Suites through Lewis RV which is over on East Reno at about Eastern and just off of I-40.  I wish I could recommend a dealer in Norman for you, but none of those down there impressed me.  If one does their research on the internet, if Lewis doesn't have a product, they can certainly order it.

Lewis has been good to us and the Mobile Suites is our third RV purchased from them.  Parts and service there has also been friendly and helpful.

Terry
