Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
55 days to go! I retire Sept 30th and we plan on leaving on 1st trip Oct 3rd. After almost a year of planning, scheming, calculating, reading, researching & worrying (driving DH crazy) we are ready to do this.
I guess everying goes thru these conflicting emotions of sheer terror & overwhelming excitement?
My days feel like they are 100 hours long!
I have so much work to do on 5vr to get it ready to go but with 100 degree temps here I have been putting that off as long as possible. As it is a new camper (last year) most of the work is just getting it loaded for an extended trip.
Well, hope to run into some of you out there on the road!

I can relate!! I'm walking away from my job in 127 days and go through these emotions just about everyday .
We have made our budget, refigured our budget, made another budget, refigured that budget and pretty much put pen to paper everytime we sit down and start talking and making plans ..... I know we have enough $$ to do this, just the stress of actually doing it makes us refigure it everytime we think of a new scenerio. It's a little maddening
Good luck on your travel, we'll be right behind you!

We have been fulltiming for 2 months and we still get the terrified/excited feeling. We still wonder if we did the right thing but so far nothing has happened to tell us we didn't. In fact just the opposite, we are loving it. I am excited for you. You are going to have a blast.

We've been out for a while (varies depending on which of us you ask) and you still have those days when you want to sit and refigure retune or refine what we are doing it's a part of our life.
We have just reached our first year anniversary on the road. We started out just as excited and worried. Relax, you have done the research. You will be all right. Some things end up being a little more expensive than planned for but this lifestyle is so flexible you will adapt. Our biggest budget item we have trouble staying within is our eating out. Too many good restaurants to choose from! Now I am hungry again, time for a DQ run. Have fun with it and hope to see you on the road soon.
After almost 4 years of full-timing and recently changing to part-timers, I can tell you that our transition was full of the same emotions. Not to worry, everything will work out just fine.
