Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Texas Rally

Did I hear mention of a Texas Rally next year or did I dream it?

Well, I'm not Howard, but he did mention it in his journal back on June 17.  Here is a link to where he mentions it:

http://rv-dreams.typepad.com/rvdreams_journal/2011/06/more-about-rv-weighing-2012-spring-rally-dates-are-set-goshen-in.html

As of the writing in the Journal, he had the dates and place scheduled but wouldn't announce yet until November of this year.  Look down about half-way through that day's posting, and it is just a few paragraphs above his first picture.

Terry

No need to go to the link Terry provided.  biggrin

Yes, the Spring 2012 RV-Dreams Rally will be in Kerrville, TX from April 24 - 29, 2012.

We wanted to announce the dates so folks can plan, but we won't be accepting registrations until November.

Thanks Terry and Howard.  I thought I had remembered seeing that.

Thanks for the dates.  Hoping to make it since it's so close to home base in Austin... if we haven't wandered to far afield by then...

Boy, does that fit our plans like a glove!  We planned to be in TX in early April visiting family near Dallas, then moving on to Moab, UT.  We had such a great time and met the most wonderful folks at the April rally we can't wait to attend another RV-Dreams rally!

While at Buckhorn RV Resort in Kerrville last week, I learned that the 2009 Rally was there. What a great place. Even in the heat, very enjoyable. We stayed 5 days, when we only planned an overnight. Surrounding area very convenient,as well.

Much as I'd love to go, unless plans change,we have to be in Nevada, 'till June.I'm sure you will all enjoy the area. It was easy to see that in season, the place would be outstanding.

Texas Rally in April, sounds great to us. We're currently waiting for our 5th wheel to be built by October and would love to attend the rally to learn more about fulltiming. Its our hope that we can retire in 2018 to begin our RV Dream. That sounds like a long time to me and a long time to learn what we need too, to be capable of such a wonderful future. It can't come soon enough.

Thanks Howard & Linda

Perfect timing. We can now plan our travel for 2012. This will be our first rally.

Wow, this is great news. We spent a week at the Guadalupe River RV resort, just down the road from Buckhorn RV. It's a great area and we found the most interesting place to eat at a ultra small town that is 2 blocks square with nothing but this steak cafe and live music. The river is great to lay around in but might still be a bit cool in April.

Looking forward to attending our FIRST RV-Dreams rally in our home state. Ya'll come on down and enjoy some Texas hospitality.

Sounds like we'll have a good bunch of former Texans...

Hey Tom and Donna,

Just wanted to say hi and wondering if you guys are still in Texas? I read all your blog posts and it sounds like you've had quite the adventure so far!

We're headed back to Austin for a couple of weeks the beginning of September. If you are in the area we would love to get together and learn more about your adventures so far!

(Tried to send a PM but it couldn't find you for some reason...)
