Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are new as official members of Howard's forum, but we are long-time "lurkers" and not entirely new to this lifestyle. We have been following this site for years (almost since its inception) and tried to make the plunge several years back - a last minute medical issue delayed the full implementation of that plan.
But now we are officially back, and just days from returning to the USA and embarking on our long sought-after journey. We have been living in Mexico, enjoying the travel and lifestyle, but now returning to our beloved country to explore its natural beauty and be with our friends and family, living the wonderful RV lifestyle. Can hardly wait!!
We look forward to staying connected with everyone on this forum as well as attending a rally in the near future.
Thanks Howard and Linda for all you do, and to all that actively contribute here, we have learned so much!
I actually welcomed you on another thread, but I'll do it again here. It is always good to welcome new members, especially those who have experience with RV's so that there are other perspectives and ideas for questions that owners and researchers have. We'll welcome both your comments and your questions. (By the way, we considered the 38RLSB3. Have you had any problems with that large sliding glass door?)
In the other thread, I mentioned a website for Suites Owners International Travel Club. In this one I will mention that there is yet another one. It is called 5th Wheel Forums and is "designed" to cover different brands other than DRV Suites owners. However, the primary users of that forum are DRV owners or those researching for RV's.
Some of the guys on 5th Wheel Forum's website like to call the SOITC folks a bunch of "cheerleaders" in that they don't necessarily like a lot of negative talk about DRV products. Some of the participants are members on both forums. So, you will find "cheerleaders" on SOITC and "whiners" on 5th wheel forums.
(Just kidding, Guys.)
Both sites are good for finding solutions for some of the problems that DRV's have.
Terry

I am intrigued by your stay in Mexico. Were you RV'ing? Where were you? Most importantly, did you feel secure? I would love to RV to Mexico but there appears to be a lot of concern about doing so. Based on your experience do you feel the concern is warranted?
Yes, I remember your welcome on the other site. Thanks for that, and the tips regarding MS forums. As to the sliding doors, we have not had the opportunity to experience our rig yet. We purchased the Mobile Suites and F450 from "traveljunkie" back in May, and the rig has remained in storage since. We are due back in the States in August and will finally move into our new home.
We have not been RV'ing in Mexico. That comes next when we return to the USA next month. For the last year, we have been renting a house in the Lake Chapala area south of Guadaljara. So I cannot speak to the advisablity of touring Mexico in an RV.
Although we feel perfectly safe in the interior of the country near Guadalajara, traveling the countryside alone in an RV would not be high on my list of things to do.
