Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Free RV Webinar this Thursday (7/14)

Just wanted to let you know we will be hosting a free webinar tomorrow (7/14/2011) at 6pm EST.

"How to Make your Family's Full Time RV Dreams a Reality"

We will discuss your most pressing questions like:

  • How will our family and all our stuff fit into 350 square feet?
  • How much will this cost?
  • How can we support our family?
  • What type of RV should we buy?
  • Can our pets come with us?

Click here: https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/341188614 to sign up - seats are limited.

Special Note:  If you are unavailable during the webinar - clicking the link above and registering now will allow you to view the replay at your convenience.

I would be very careful about clicking on this link until we know more about this member!

If you look at the new member's profile - she has a website listed - www.fulltimefamilies.com with links to her blog and the webinar is advertised there as well. It looks like a pretty well established website.

I'll still pass.In today's climate many things can be made to "look" legitimate.Clickable links in a first post just make me nervous.

I'm like George, just wish I had a font that was all squiggly, like I was nervous when I wrote this.

What….you mean one like this one?

Terry

OK...now to try to be serious, I also went to their profile and while I didn't take the time to look at the "official" website, I did check out their blog.  They have been full-timing since about August of 2010 with fairly regular posts of kids and places.

What I would like to see is for the original poster to come back and respond to what has been written so far in the comments of others.  Like some of the others, first posts with "clickable links" bothers me too, especially since there was no introduction of the poster or their family.  While the blog can give us something of a perspective, it would be nicer to actually carry on a dialogue with us asking questions of them BEFORE the webinar.

I am not very experienced with this tech stuff. What could happen? I almost clicked on it till I read further.

Like Gene said most likely nothing ,BUT the rule of thumb is to NEVERno click on an active link from someone you don't know. That's how computer virus's are sometimes spread.

So  in the standard fashion of a madman who is however no dummy, I clicked on the link.

Norton 360 rated the site as safe to pursue and indeed it takes you to a simple, secure

registration site operated by a legimate and well known web security organization

Citrix LLC.  The webinar is then made available through an also well known web site called,

"gotomeeting"  The registration simply requiires first and last name and a valid email. I'm

familiar with Citrix because it is used for secure web based medical info used by hospitals

and other other similar organizations.

Not to worry.biggrin.gif

Not to worry, it's safe!  I just copy and pasted the home link and checked their website out before clicking on the webinar link. (http://www.fulltimefamilies.com)

I am now signed up for the webinar and hope it will help us jump into the "Full-Time Lifestyle" with our children.  Website appears to be geared towards family full timing.

I found RV Dreams by clicking on a link, I don't let the "internet virus trolls" scare me away from useful information.  That's why I use a firewall and keep my virus protection updated.

I just attended this webinar today.  It was geared toward people with kids who want to go fulltime.  It was pretty basic, but probably a good intro for families who are beginning to think about going on the road.  The moderator mentioned that they will be doing more webinars, so probably worth checking it out to see if they're going to cover a topic that you'd be interested in.

Wish I had read this last year. We met this couple in Oregon last summer and got to know them. They are terrific and I am the one that gave them info on RV-Dreams. They are legit.
