Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Parking 2nd vehicle & small enclosed trailer

I have a question about additional parking availablility at state parks & private campgrounds.  Hubby & I will each be driving a vehicle when we go fulltiming.  He'll be pulling the 5th wheel & I'll be driving a small pickup truck or SUV & towing a small enclosed utility trailer.  I'm wondering if it is difficult to find campgrounds that have "offsite" parking for additional vehicles?  I'm guessing that we'd have to pay for this additional parking - any ideas of average cost for that?  Would state parks have this type of offsite parking?

Thanks for any info you can give!!

After 4+ years fulltiming with an F-450, 37' 5er and a car (slightly less than you) we have had very few problems. We sometimes have to park one quite a hike from the trailer but have only been asked to pay for the privelege twice. ($5/day) There was one park in Florida where they told us if we couldn't get it all on our site we'd have to leave. (we ended up parking the car off site on a public street) So in 1500 or so nights ....only paid twice.

We only do for profit parks so we don't know about state parks.

Less than a year fulltime. Trailer behind dp and I drive the pickup behind. Stayed quite a few RV parks and have never had to pay extra. Had to park the pickup across the road only one time. Stopped at two parks that said we would have to park the trailer in a lot a long way from us so we moved on. We use the trailer for workshop and garage for our motorcycle and rc airplanes.
