Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We will be traveling to and staying at Hershey Park PA. We are looking for suggestions and ideas for things to do and places to visit while there. We will be there for eight days so we will have plenty of time. So we would appreciate all your suggestions.

Lots to do in and around Hershey. Of course there's Hershey Park (amusement park). Hershey itself is an interesting town. The trolley tour of the town is great. Amish 'country' isn't too far of a drive, a day trip for sure. Look up Lancaster county in your GPS. Hope this helps you!
While you are in the area (Bob and I live in Hummelstown - about 5 minutes from Hershey), if you like wineries, there is Mt. Hope Estate and Winery just a few yards south of the Lancaster/Lebanon turnpike entrance on Route 72. They usually offer tours of the mansion and will have a free winetasting after the tour.
There is Hollywood Casino in Grantville, which is just off Interstate 81 at the Route 743 Hershey exit. If you go straight out Route 743 from Hershey (north), you will go right to it.
There are the Outlets at Hershey, which include stores like Coach, Yankee Candles, Aeropostale, and Bass. Can't remember all of them! There are probably 75 to 100 stores - on Hersheypark Drive.
You might want to make a reservation for lunch in the Circular Dining Room at the Hotel Hershey. Also, The Hershey Pantry on Route 422 East of Hershey has unique and delicious dishes, moderately priced. It's a very popular place to eat.
That's about all I can think of for now. I'm sure there are a lot of other places to visit. I will add them if I can think of more.
Hope this helps, and I hope you enjoy your stay in Hershey!
Since you are in the area for 8 days you will have time to get to Gettysburg.
Also get to chocolate world where there is a exhibit on the making of chocolate, it is next to Hershey Park and is a free exhibit. While speaking of tours in York is the Harley-Davidson plant.
You can spend a day at Gettysburg and relive the horrors of the battle that took place there in 1863.
Also spend some time in Lancaster county, and visit places like Blue Ball ( while here go to Shady Maple, a large smörgåsbord for your one meal of the day), visit the shops in Intercourse, enjoy Bird-in-Hand, and just enjoy the Lancaster area.
You will not be that far from visiting Valley Forge near Philadelphia.
Carlisle is nearby and has a lot of car shows during the summer months.
Lebanon County is next to Hershey and you can get some of the bologna made there, also search the area fuel stops for local "opera fudge" which is some of the finest candy you will ever eat. Also if you have bikes there are several rails to trails in the Lebanon and Lancaster areas.
Do have fun in the area. We are working in a campground about 1 hour drive from Hershey, and if you have any questions send us a PM. We were both born and raised in the local area.
