Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Did not know where to post this. Has anyone any experience with Chalet RV, Inc. Albany OR. member of RVIA www.chaletrv.com
In March at the Albuquerque RV Show we saw their Model XL1938 A-frame travel trailer with expanding hard sided dormer - looked nice. We are developing Plan B as we are starting to question if our house will ever sell in this screwed up country. A big step down from a Class A and a detour from F/T RV-ing - but this "toy" will be our little get-a-way - perhaps 2-3 weeks at a time until the country re-finds itself, or we jump the border to Canada or Mexico or Aruba or the world really does end. :>)
Just starting our research - nearest dealer is in Oklahoma - we have contacted Chalet for info etc.
First hand knowledge is sooooo important so if you have any knowledge of the company or their products - I'm all ears.
As far as the A-liner is concerned, look up the profile on RV Dreams for Sushidog. I think he owns one of them and his profile has an e-mail address in it, so you could ask him questions about what he likes about his and what he learned in his research.

We camped next to a couple who had either a Chalet or an A-Liner. They'd stepped down from extended travel in a class A and camped for short periods of time only. They felt that it had everything they needed for up to a week or so. They carried a screen room with them for additional outdoor space.
They remind me somewhat of the old Apache hard side campers. Looked like a tent camper (popup) but had solid fiberglas panels where the canvas would have been. Assembling them took a bit of time. We had friends who owned one and called it their "House of Cards".

I found aliner by searching the web. Chalet looks much nicer, especially with the dormer and the Chalet model we looked at had a seperate shower and toilet and sink. A complete seperate full bathroom. Dinette converts to a King size bed. Also steel frame insulated walls and floor and easy roof raise (electric) in minutes - they have come a long way Ron. This might be plan B - which I'm praying we don't have to revert to!
Trying to get our ducks in a row, but they keep moving arond :>) Time will tell.
I'm really interested in the Chalet 1935 XL pop-up hard-sided cottage style/cabin RV. I also like the TrailManor! It also pops up but in a different way. It is a folding full size RV.
