It does not appear that Howard has an opinion on this subject/link - in his absence, someone must have some thoughts - any takers? This is a subject that most folks seem to shy away from but yet all RV-ers have to face it, so why not share?

The Geo Method has been around for a long time. I find nothing wrong with it, I just find it unnecessary. If you do what you should do with plenty of water for flushing and only dumping when full (near full) the tank will take care of itself. I like having a tank flusher installed such as this http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/no-fuss-flush/3495 but I only use it a couple of times per year. I think the idea behind the Geo Method is to help keep the tank monitors working better but the idea of slick walls still cannot stop things from sticking to an internal sensor if that's what is used.

I usually keep out of these discussions because the threads go on and on with more and more elaborate "solutions", but since this time there seems to be some common sense, I'll also weigh in.

We also do nothing. In the beginning I used to flush the black tank ocassionally but even stopped doing that. We just let it go till full, which is normally about 3 weeks. When we ''sense" we need to dump, we close the grey and do a couple of washes to fill the tank and then dump black and flush with grey. Repeat 3 weeks later.

It's been working for 5 years now without a problem.

We also do "nothing". Just rinse with fresh water occasionally. Never use any chemicals or other stuff. Been fultiming for 11 years with no issues. Use lots of water.
