Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Okay, so since a lot of people don't seem to like FaceBook (where we'd originally wanted to do all our blogging), we've made a blog. We also want to start reading other people's blogs as well.
Here's a question. There appears to be another blog with a similar name. Go figure, right? LOL Theirs is Jones' Journey and then something about keeping up with the joneses.... duh. So anyhow, it's not an RV blog or anything, so do you think it's okay to keep mine as it is? Or should I think about changing it? Any feedback on this question, and the blog itself... would be greatly appreciated.
You have to be a member of Facebook to read Facebook and many won't do it because Facebook has lousy privacy and not much hope it will get better. Blogs anyone can be read by anyone and are designed to find old info easier, while Facebook is really about "right now".

I see what you're saying, as those arguments against facebook have always been the main argument. However, if you choose httpS setting, rather than http, and if you have a somewhat complicated password, there's no way a hacker/phisher can infiltrate your page. Also, if you stay away from games and other apps that are not facebook property... you can also stay safe. I've been a member for over four years now, and by just excercising some common sense, i've never had a problem, and kept my computer free of any problems.
As for the "right now" aspect, no argument. Something that's being read about today, could be buried tomorrow. I kinda like that though. Keeps the interaction fresh, imo. But i'm not here to help Zuckerberg get richer. I'm here to learn as much as I can about full-timing, and hopefully make some friends that will read the blog. That's why I made it.
We were blogging long before we joined Facebook...now we do both and just use the Networked Blogs feature in FB to post a link to our blogs when whenever we publish. Doubly important since we have multiple blogs...LOL!
Added a link to your blog but hope you won't just do videos, I tend to not watch those...just a personal preference.

Not always video, but we are documenting the construction with video as well as pics. Since my first blog was on Facebook, and the vids got a lot of positive response from our friends, we thought we'd keep that part of it as well. We're a very odd couple. We really like to add humor as much as possible to things. Where these particular vids haven't been a funny project, many videos we've done in the past are. Again, if anyone had checked the FB page, you'd see what I mean. I've always been a frustrated stand-up comedian, so I bring a lot of that to our vids. But no... the blog won't have all vid. I also love to write, but just a bit too busy at this point. Thanks for the feedback and helpful critique.
