Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Have you been at Liberty Harbor Marina & RV Park in New Jersey

Liberty Harbor Marina & RV Park in New Jersey is very close to Manhattan, but I am not getting positive feelings about staying there.  Have any of you been at this park?  Did you like it?  Did you feel safe?  Would you return?

Thank  you so much.

I would recommend you look at Croton Point Park, a Westchester County park about 30 miles north of the city right on a peninsular on the Hudson River. Best thing is it's right at a train station that will have you in Grand Central Station in the middle of Manhattan in about 50 minutes. It's the only place we think of staying when we visit NY. Here is their site

enjoy your visit !

George,

Liberty Harbor is nothing more than a paved parking area with electric and water hookups.  Not the best neighborhood, but not the worst.

Fred is steering you right.  Croton on the Hudson is a few miles north of the Tapanzee Bridge crossing the Hudson.  It is a county park with acres of walking.  You pass through Sleepy Hollow so watch out for Ichabod Crane.

We stayed there and plan to return.  Moose will love it. The train is less than an hour to Grand Central Station.

Having stayed at Liberty Harbor on two occasions; the only thing we found wrong with the place are the restrooms. The commuter ferry leaves from the marina and will take you to South-port Harbor or Wall Street. The BART train is within walking distance where you have two choices. One will take you to ground zero at the WTC, the other will take you up town to 34th St. Macy, Empire State Building and 42 sec. St all a short walk. There is also a tour bus that comes into the marina and will take you around Manhattan. Croton Point is an excellent park. Although you still have that long ride into the city. I was born and raised in NY. If your not familiar with the city, We'd return to the marina anytime. IMO
