Congratulations on joining our forum. This is a great place to get information and advice. We have been wanna-bees - gonna-bees since November 2009. It's been a long road but the gonna-be has won out. We will be departing as full-timers on March 21st - just 4 weeks less 1 day away. Our dream will be fulfilled.

Thanks for the warm welcome and great input. I think we have decided on a fifthwheel toy hauler. The quad will fit great in the back of the pickup when we need to transport the quad to ridding areas.

As of now we are looking at Raptors by Keystone, but are open to other suggestions

Welcome to the forums and welcome to the world of dreaming (and doing) the RV lifestyle. If you've been reading for a while, you know that there are a lot of knowledgeable folks here.

You didn't say whether you were considering full time or not, so that is a consideration as well. So, I'll just give the "standard" advice. Go to as many RV shows as you can, go to as many dealerships as you can, and NEVER take the word of a salesman as gospel without verifying their information.

If you find something you like, look for an online "owner's" association with a forum on their website. Reading through those forums lets you get a "feel" for the unit without having to plunk down big amounts of money to find out. Now, having said that, keep in mind that forums do attract those that are looking for a solution to a problem with their unit. Just because there seems to be a lot of problems doesn't mean the "brand" is no good. Do your research and if you can, find owners in your area that have that brand.

Ask any owners of what you are interested in this question: "Given that you were going to purchase another RV, would you buy "brand xxx" again?" All manufacturer's units have problems, and most of those are with systems used to "make up" the entire unit. For instance, on our Mobile Suites, when it was brand new the GE Advantium microwave/convection oven wouldn't heat or turn the turntable. Those things just happen.

If you are considering full-time, consider where you will be spending the winters and if "further north", be sure and look at insulation ratings and plumbing protection.

Whatever it is you plan to do with your RV, have fun researching and looking. While you might get frustrated at times, keep plugging away.

Sorry, I forgot to tell. We are going to go full time. I used to travel with my grand parents during the summer and have had the bug since.

Also I am not sure about getting a 4 wheel drive or just two wheel drive. Its seems that the less moving parts on a vehicle the better IE no transfer case, but if you happen to need it sometime ???

I see more trailer type toy haulers then Class A toy haulers. I'd research resale I think you will find a better resale on a fifth wheel or travel trailer then a class A.
