Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Out of the closet

Hi everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself and finally come out of the closet. I’ve been lurking for several months and have really enjoyed reading the stories and learning from the vast experience of everyone on this forum. From Howard and Linda to Terry and Jo to Fred, Racerguy, Bubba Dan, TxYellowRose, Bjoyce, and so many others that I read every day.. thank you for your knowledge and experience. My DW and I are about 5 years out from retirement and hitting the road. The fulltime life sounds exciting to both of us but our initial plan is to spend at least the first year or two and see how it goes. We are looking at Fivers and Class As and at this point in time we are leaning toward the Fiver.

Thanks again and hope we can meet down the road.

Dave

Glad you're out of the closet Dave and welcome to the forum. The DW and I purchased an used class C coach to "test the waters" on this RV stuff as we had no previous experience. It didn't take very long to discover how much we enjoyed traveling in an RV. It wasn't until we unloaded the house and all our possessions that we really felt the freedom this lifestyle affords. There are plenty of folks here that can help if you have any questions about the different rigs along with pro's and con's of each so don't hesitate to ask for opinions.

Dave and Marilyn,

Welcome to being active members of the forums.  We are glad to have you and welcome any questions and comments that you can contribute.  This is a site of "learned" and "learning" individuals, and I firmly believe that each of us belongs to each of those categories.

Pardon me while I hold my head with one arm so it doesn't get too big.  After all, you mentioned us in your inaugural comment.  I feel blessed.

(OK.  I'll stop trying to be funny now.)

As with Dan, we have been "camping" for years, gaining some experience with both travel trailers and fifth wheels.  While we've never owned either a class C or class A motorhome, we have certainly done our research on them.

So, fire away with both questions and comments.

Terry

Hey Dave, I did the same thing lurk for a long time and read as much as I could. Then I took the plunge and this is such a great group that it almost becomes addictive. This is the first think I check in the morning and the last at night. Welcome come on in and get our feet wet it is a lot of fun.

Hi Dave and Marilyn,
Welcome--we had a Class C for 3 years and just traded for a 5th wheel.  They all have their pluses and minuses.  We learn a lot from other rvers when ever we are traveling.  We are currently in Florida for 7 weeks, and just keep getting more and more excited for the fulltiming lifestyle.
Best of all,

Welcome D&M.  In the immortal words of an old T-shirt I used to have, "Closets are for clothes."
