Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are happy to be here. We began our workamping journey in March 2010. Worked in WV over the summer and at Amazon.com in KY up until Christmas.
Now, we are just relaxing near family and friends in Edenton, NC. We are lining up our summer job as we speak. But, if you know of any immediate openings (preferably south of here ), feel free to let us know!
Sorry, but I don't have any tips on jobs. I'm just here to welcome you to the RV Dreams forums. If you've been reading for long, then you know there are a lot of knowledgeable folks here that are friendly and helpful to boot. Feel free to ask questions or make comments.
I've just read through your entire blog, and found it interesting, to say the least. While I'm older and less likely to be quite so active (think rafting here), I can live vicariously through yours experiences.
Good luck with your travels and your future.
Terry

Welcome Craig N Karin, I am a newbee on site and also just came out of the closet. I have found lots of great advice and support and know you will. I took a quick look at your blog--lots of good info.-will check it out in more detail. Best thoughts for your next adventure.
Welcome Craig N Karen! Read your blog and thoroughly enjoyed it. Am not sure about summer jobs but we were lucky enough to locate one - will be our first workamping adventure and are now looking for winter. Would love more input on your experience with Amazon.com. Looks like a way to make several thousand in a short period of time.
Amazon.com was a demanding job. We hike and bike alot, yet found that there are many muscles that we just haven't been utilizing! The first 2 weeks took some getting used to. 10 hour shifts, all on your feet. A break in the morning, lunch, and another break in the afternoon. Our job had us walking less but included alot of bending, kneeling and time on a step stool or short ladder.
Amazon.com and it's employees treated us well. Everyone was very helpful. Amazon.com paid us hourly, paid for our site and a bonus. They fed us lunch occasionally and passed out various gift cards. we did work some ovetime, which was voluntary. We met many people that we keep in touch with.
If you go to our blogsite, you'll see a video on the front page. If you watch it, you'll see a picture of us within a large group at Amazon.com. If you pause the video on that picture, you will see the variety of workampers that we worked with. Some were in their late 70's and did just fine. There was only a handful of people that left early, unable to perform the work.
We wouldn't be interested in a full-time, permanent position. But we will go back next year
