Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Any recommendations? I would like to use a portable/hand held if possible to save on storage space. I know that a lot of people have laminate and I am going to put some in our bathroom and kitchen (someday) but have to try to get by with the old carpet for now. TIA
When we've needed to clean the carpet we either rented one at a hardware store and did it ourselves, or sometimes we found a local service that would come and do it inexpensively. The services were all in "snowbird" locations during the winter.
Hi Janni - We bought our 1999 MH last April and don't know when the carpet was last cleaned. We had a local service come out and clean it a few months ago with a waterless method. It ran around $100. Don't know if that was a good price or not, but it came out looking great. We'll probably still replace it at some point, but now it's not a #1 priority. Wish we'd done it sooner!
Just finished cleaning carpets today with a Little Green Machine and it did a pretty decent job for a small size machine. The only drawback is that you have to do it on your hands and knees so that might be an issue for some. It is a pretty compact unit about the size of a sewing machine so storage is pretty easy.

I, too, have a Little Green Machine and really like it. I use it to spot clean. I don't know that I'd be able to do the entire carpet with it because of the "on your knees" thing. But, once the carpet is clean, it's an easy way to keep it that way and as island girl mentioned, it's small and easy to store.
Us too, we use the Little Green Machine. We have 2 dogs and they like to track dirt and mud so this does help do the spot cleaning that needs to be done. We also use it on the furniture if needed. Great little machines. I think we got ours at Wally World.

Resurrecting an old thread...any new input on a compact carpet cleaner. I would like to clean all the carpet, living area and bedroom. Can't imagine jockeying around the big Rug Dr. in a 36' 5th wheel. I have looked at the Little Green Machine, other Bissell cleaners and a small one made by Rug Dr.
Thanks for any input, Ann
I can't answer your question, but it is usually better to start a new thread, rather than resurrect an old one. That way, new technologies/products can be discussed, where the old may already be obsolete and out of production. However, others reading a resurrected thread may think that the earlier posts are still relevant and waste time trying to find those products.
Terry
