Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Well, it is a new year and I've begun a new venture. Effective January 1, 2011, my first posting on my webblog has been made. While we aren't "officially" full-timing in our RV yet, we will one day be there, so I chose to post this in the "Forum Member RVing Blogs" category.
With this new venture, I hope to challenge myself to do more writing. I've been told I have both a talent for photography and writing, so a while back I began the process of creating a photo book made up of some of my photos, along with comments. That book is one small way for me to help proclaim the glory of God by showing images of His creations for others to see.
Hopefully, my new blog will challenge me enough to do more writing, thus get more done with the book. Wish me luck, and be gentle with your comments. When I post both text and pictures, feel free to offer comments and constructive criticism.
The title of the blog is "Ignoring The Barking Dogs" and is at the link below and at the bottom of my forum posts signature.
I loved reading your blog. Congrats on you and Jo's anniversary on Christmas Day! Wayne and I were married the month before. I was the first to "follow" your blog...I know you will love writing and sharing and I love reading about how others think and feel and live! Welcome to the "blogosphere"!!
Your blog looks great! A blog is a good for keeping in touch with family and posting pictures. I also find that sometimes it is a place for me to give my opinions, write about my joy in this fulltime adventure, and also space for "venting" when necessary. Religious and political views allowed. Looking forward to you sharing yours. Happy Anniversary.
I loved the initiation of your Blog and, yes, the Title got my attention! I love Louie but have not read all his books, unlike you and my late father. I showed my wife your blog since she retires in May and loves to read & write, besides sewing & quilt; and, she may create a blog in the future for our family to follow. Don't know exactly when you two are "hitting the road" but hope to see you in four or five years since that's our time-frame for traveling more than just long weekends or a few weeks during the summer.

My blog now has a new look. My youngest son was out and helped me with resizing one of my own photos for a background. That is getting pretty bad when someone with as much picture taking experience as I have needs help with re-sizing.
However, since I usually do very little to photos in imaging software, I'm pretty limited on the knowledge of the exact process to reach a certain point. Fortunately, one of my imaging software packages had the specific "tool" that we needed. Oddly enough, it was the cheaper of the two that I have that had the capability of doing what we wanted.
My hopes are to have various kinds of postings, including a number of RV related "aids" such as checklists, websites, etc. I just have to figure out how to put those "categories" on the site.
Goody. I get to learn even more new stuff.

I guess I'm in trouble with my first post. Jo is planning reprisal.
By the way, I've put pictures with each of my two posts, but the second one shows up as a little red "x". The thumbnail is still active and will come up full size if it is clicked on. Does anyone have a clue as to why it would do that? I am using Live Writer for my postings.
Thanks for any help.

Terry, what a wonderful blog you have started. What you may not realize is that your opening comments has been an affirmation from God about a commitment I made over the weekend to step up my retirement date. While I don't want to use the forum to get preachy, I can say that your decision to follow this passion has already reached one heart. Thank you for stepping out to follow your passion.
Oh yeah, I decided to move my retirement date up from Marcy 2012 to June 2011. Once I publicly announce that, the dogs will be barking.

Well, I've just had my first embarrassment as a "blogger". I've just learned that you don't delete the comments in the "awaiting moderation" area of the dashboard. I did that a while ago, and now the comments are also gone from the posts themselves.
Sorry about that. I thought I was just getting rid of a "inbox" type entry. I had no clue it would take them totally off of the blog.
Well, at least my embarrassment may help someone else avoid the same mistake.
