Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Wonder if we could keep a thread going where folks could post about their stays at campgrounds on the coast all over the country? We're heading, slowly, to Texas, Arkansas, Florida then up the eastern seaboard. I've been doing my homework with AAA (though we've quit them in favor of Good Sam) and RVParkReviews. I'd be happy to add info on the places we eventually visit.
If anyone's interested in sharing, I for one would love information on any coastal parks where you've stayed.
We stayed in Brookings, Oregon at the Port of Brookings Harbor RV Park in July 2010. http://www.port-brookings-harbor.org/?nav=rv_park. We paid $222/wk for full hookups, extra charge for WiFi. It's really a large parking lot with RV spaces - a fire ring and table at each site. The restaurant at the park has, according to John, the best hamburger he's ever eaten. You are right at the ocean, though, and can walk down the steps to the beach. We slept each night to the sound of surf, and watched the ocean from our RV all day when we weren't on the beach. We had our two dogs and the beach and RV park is pet friendly (on leash). Laundy room was not great - washers and dryers we never all up and running. Staff is there to answer questions. This isn't an activity park -- the activity is the ocean. We hope to visit there again.

We're workamping on the coast this winter in Long Beach Washington. This is our first extended stay on any coast and we are loving it so far. Lots of history with the Lewis & Clark trail, and we have been checking out the movie locations in Astoria. I think we will be busy all winter exploring this area...

Dan, Astoria and the area was my last attempt at a vacation. I love that area.it's beautiful. A
The Lewis and Clark exhibits are great and there are several lighthouses within an easy drive. There's also some interresting shopping and such the far side of Astoria from you (south down the coast highway). I was halfway debating swinging back up that way before going south in the next week or two.
Enjoy, I know I always do out there.
For a real nice dinner, try Baked Alaska as a special treat. The guy who opened it is above par, to say the least. Pricey, bit better than most anything I've had in a restaurant in the last year or two, lol.
KD: Why add another place to review campgrounds when many of us use http://www.rvparkreviews.com/? We have stayed at Driftwood RV Park in Brookings, just up the road, and enjoyed it also.
We have family the Long Beach area, Chinook specifically, and they own M&D Designs which has glass, wire and beading classes. That area is full of places to see and for those who care, places to eat. Beach Burrito which is tied in with the Subway in Astoria is a very good deal. The other good deal is happy hour at the Warrenton Doogers between 4 and 6 in the bar, you can make a meal for very little money.

I don't want to take anything away from the other review sites. Especially rvparkreviews.com but I'd like to also take a moment to introduce a newer rv park review site, RVParking.com. Any feedback is welcome!
If you have a moment then please check us out. Unlike some of the other review sites out there we:
- Allow you to post your own photos of the parks/campgrounds that you stay at - Each review is tied to your user profile. So there's not so much anonymity - If you have a blog then you can add your blog/website link in your user profile
We're always happy to see new users & RV park reviews
