Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Milestone achieved

We hit a milestone yesterday when we pulled into Dead Horse Ranch State Park.

It's our 300th campground since we began this journey in February 2006.

I guess when we took the name Wandering Wishnies, we weren't kidding. biggrin

Wow!!   Now, I'm going to have to wander through your blog and see if I can detect a review of campgrounds that you've been camped at.

However, when Jo and I get to travel after we retire in a few years, we plan to stay weeks or even months in one place so we can see as much as possible in the region.  I'm a serious, amateur photographer and I love getting pictures of nature and wildlife.  With your schedule, I'd feel like I had always missed something.

By the way, are any of the 300 places duplicated, or are they all different ones?

Terry

Edit:  Yep, I just looked and you do have a link to campground reviews.

There are many duplicates to places we've returned to often and the 5 day moving average is somewhat misleading.

If we stay in a place for a month and then have 3 or 4 overnights getting to the next place, the average comes out moving every week.

Believe me, we see a lot and move in a very relaxed way. But, there is no right or wrong, every one moves at their own pace.

What a great milestone. Your profile photo says it all. After 4 years of living on wheels you still have a smile on your face. Congratulations on the milestone. Travel safe.

Congrats Fred!!

We have just come off the road for the season and are at 293, but even with a couple years of full timing it has taken us twice as long as you.

I second janni's 300 more comment.

Congrats on the milestone! That is really cool, now on to the next 300, and beyond.

How about a list of the top 5?

Congratulations Fred, that is quite a milestone. It made me stop and do some figuring myself. We did not keep up with the number of campgrounds but we have put 46,853 miles on our truck in 28 months and we did not drive to Alaska. How many miles have you traveled since you started on the road?

We just turned 103,000 and we are at 4 years and 8 months into this adventure.

At the rate you are traveling you will blow our doors off, especially if you decide to go to Alaska. smile.gif

Boy, you sure have been doing some traveling. We did go to Alaska this year but we cheated - we did not drive . We flew up did a 3 day Denali trip and Cruised back. Alaska is such a beautiful place even though we did not see much of it. You got to really experience it so much better. We will probably slow down in a couple of years and not do as many miles per year but we are already planning another trip out west next year and maybe another trip to the northeast the year after. There is just so much to see and so little time to see it all. We did 4 volunteer jobs this year and will start another in Nov.
