Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Adventure on pause

Maxine and I started Fultiming on Aug 1st and headed to South Dakota to get residency finished up.Then the plan was to drift slowly to Phoenix to spend Nov and Dec hiking and seeing Arizona with her sister.

We are currently in Colorado Springs and had spent 2 weeks hiking and riding our motorcycle in the mountains and enjoying the area.

Wednesday, Max ended up falling down the RV steps as she was headed outside. She ended up fracturing her leg. She will be on crutches for the next 8 weeks.

She also is the one who rides the motorcyclr pulling the cargo trailer and I pull the 5th wheel. It would not be too safe for her to pull the 5th wheel with her leg in a splint.

So our plan now is to leave the motorcycle here in Colorado Springs and I will get her to Phoenix early and fly back to get the motorcycle.

Our Arizona adventure will now be on pause until she can recoop. Her spirits are good and she laughs at her misfortune but I know she is deeply disappointed.

Be careful, like they say most accidents happen at home.

Sorry to hear about Max's slip. Hang in there and hopefully it won't slow you down for long.

Last May Johnny had to have his right ankle fuzed. He couldn't put ANY weight on it for 4 months while it healed. Thing was we already had our big summer rv trip planned and tickets to the July Nascar race in Daytona Beach paid for. So off we went. I have to say that doing all the driving and setup single handed is not my first choice, but we still had fun and it made him feel better not to be responsible for changing our plans too much.

8 weeks healing, huh? Hopefully you can go for short Thanksgiving hike!

Take care

We sure have to be more careful as we get older. Jo did the same thing a few years ago and broke her foot. Then the crutches aggravated a rotator cuff problem and she ended up having shoulder surgery also.

The whole thing held us in Milwaukee so long that winter finally arrived and we booked all the way to Louisiana with freezing temps and snow storms following us. What a trip!

Won't forget that episode soon, but we are both more careful holding on. smile.gif

Maxine and Dave,

We are certainly sorry to hear about the accident.  But, at least you can laugh about it, so it seems that things aren't seriously bad.  Hopefully, everything will heal right and she will not be hampered in the future.  I'll bet we can imagine that she will be a lot more careful.

At least this way, if there are any other things you need to do to you new Mobile Suites, there will probably be time to do it.  What we have done in our new 38TKSB3 has mostly been at home.  But, Jo and I are planning on going to the Carthage, MO Suites mini rally next month.  We're excited because it will be our first trip with our Mobile Suites, plus, our first rally of any kind.

Enjoy your life.  God only gives us one, so we need to make the most of what He gives us.  God speed in your plans and God bless both of you.

Terry

Thanks for the well wishes. I know alot of you have gone through similar things. I wanted to slow down my pace in life but not quite this slow.

Sorry to hear that. Hope she heals up quickly. Take it easy and there shouldn't be any complications.

So sorry to hear of your misadventure, Maxine. As the Queen of Clutzes (and I am NOT calling you a clutz...just empathyzing), I can feel your pain, so to speak. How frustrating, but thank God it was not worse like a head injury or the like (and it was bad enough!).

Isn't it something that we can make all the plans in the world and on the turn of a dime or in the blink of an eye, we have to change gears? Life can be challenging, but interesting too.

Hope you heal extremely quickly and without too much frustration. When I had a broken collarbone and then later a broken bone in the same arm (long story), I found myself SO frustrated at not being able to fend for myself sometimes or not being able to do certain things. Just be patient, slow down and take time to heal properly.

Virtual Hug,

Jeannie
