Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Read another thread about photo sharing sites. Some of our friends use them with great success. I have always just downloaded photos from my camera disk by putting it in the SD slot in my laptop. I have windows Vista and they just go to my hard drive. Last Winter I got a new laptop with Windows 7. When I insert the SD card in it nothing happens. I still use Vista for photos as I can't get Windows 7 to do it. Any of you computer wizards out there help me get my Windows 7 laptop to download from the SD card?
As a workaround you can open the SD from Computer to get to the photos. I do not know Windows 7 enough to turn autorun on, but it might be on the right click menu once you select the SD card.

Right clic on the SD will get me some options. I can look at the pix but have yet been unable to download or copy them. We'll keep working on it. Thanx
i hated everything about vista except how it did pictures. when we switched to windows 7 i downloaded picasa. look up "geeks on tour" they have conferences on picasa. windows 7 sucks for pics and editing of pics. how did you keep vista pics but have everything else windows 7?
I got to play with this on Windows 7 today. Go to Start->Control Panel, select "Hardware and Sound", select "AutoPlay". Now make sure "Use AutoPlay for all media and devices" is checked. Down under "Pictures" make sure it is set to something other than "Take No Action", for example "Ask me every time" is what mine says and that is what happens.

faerie......We have 2 laptops...one Vista with pix...one windows 7 bjoyce......thanx a bunch....will try tonight when I get back to my trailer.
EDIT: spent a hour mucking around with autoplay. It was on(checked "use autoplay on al...") and most things (and photos) was set to ask me everytime. Still can't figure out how to download from the SD disk. Thinking about paying someone (like Geek Squad) to show me how but will keep asking those I meet for ideas for a while yet. Your efforts are appreciated.
