Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Well it finally happened.... after 31 years of driving RVs, I was involved in an accident.
Thankfully. no one was hurt.
This accident makes me like the MDT I use as a tow vehicle even more. The basic scenario of the accident is, a lady in a Toyota Tercel cut in front of my truck and caught the right front bumper with her driver door. The end of my bumper hooked on her door jamb and her car ended up perpendicular in front of my truck. I pushed her for about 3 feet until I was able to get everything stopped.
It was amazing I barely felt her car hit the truck and the only damage was to my bumper, a trim piece plus 5 lug nut covers. The bumper will need to be replaced. The only sensation I felt was the same as when you slam on the brakes.
If we had been in the old 1986 chevy 3500, I'm sure the damage to the truck would have been more extensive and the feel of the accident would have been more severe.
I was able to complete the trip down to San Diego and get setup for the 4th of July weekend.
The Chevy Kodiak is a great tow vehicle, I'm sorry I waited several years before I finally decided to get one.
