Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hay, everyone my name is s. austin. I currently reside in Northern Oregon. I'm 29 disabled and on Soc. After owning a type C, B and tent trailer. I've decided to be a full time rv'er and am now looking for a deisel pusher. My father and uncle are deisel mech. and many people I know own vacation property for me to babysit. I've saved about 7 and as long as I don't buy from a dealer. I should be right side up. I've been a life long camper and in the last 5 years I've spent more time and money with my campers then my apt. Almost everyone I talk to says it's great and go for it. Im not gonna buy a brand new one. 10 years old or less. I like the Holiday Rambler or monaco 36 to 40ft. They sell for 60 and up from the dealership, I've looked at them from private parties for half the price with lower miles. I refuse to pay for others money mistakes. Any tips? On the perchace or lifestyle or maybe fair warning? p.s. my minds made up please nothing negative
Won't get any negative comments here regarding the fulltime rv life!
I am sure someone will come on the to advice Class As. We had an 1988 Georgie Boy a few years ago. Kept it for two years to see if we liked Rving. Liked it enough that we traded up to a new Fiver and went fulltime.
We have owned four motorhomes...one gas (Allegro Bay), two Holiday Rambler Endeavors and now our Dutch Star. We definitely like the DP. The Endeavor is a great MH but remember they no longer make them. Monaco went out of business and later was purchased by NaviStar. I believe they are making the Monaco RVs but do not recognize any warranty stuff on anything prior to their purchase. If I am wrong about that I am sure someone will jump in and correct me. We LOVE the Monaco product. With that said we also LOVE our Newmar Dutch Star. Fantastic MH!! Before you purchase be sure to have the coach checked out since it will have a few years on it. Check the NADA on the "basic" retail price to be sure of the offer you make. Go slow and be careful.

Welcome to the forum, and best of luck on your plans. I too and disabled, and hoping to full-time in an RV. My wife is still working, and we have a lot of things to work out before we make the jump. I like the diesel pusher idea, but also like a lot of 5th wheelers I've seen.
That's great about the people owning vacation property you can babysit. Couldn't ask for a better deal than that.
