Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

In Texas, voter registration is a ticket to jury duty. Permanent exemption can be claimed if you are 70 or older.  How do you respond to jury summons when traveling if you are younger than 70?

In Livingston you call the number on the summons and tell them that you are currently traveling.  They will say “Fine we will take care of it. Please come by to volunteer for Jury Duty the next time you are in Livingston.”

In Travis county where I currently live and where we expect to keep our residency, they have an online system. When you get your summons you just log in and either tell them you can't make it and why -- ie., Traveling -- or you select the weeks when you would be available. Then they notify you by email. Pretty convenient.

I got my notice to serve @ the end of May! My oldest daughter was graduating and the relatives were in town (from SC) and we had a camping trip planned too. Here in AZ we get a form to fill out and it asked if serving would be a hardship on us or our family to which I replied YES! I was supposed to be out of state (Camping) and I told them that I wouldn't change my plans to attend their trial. biggrin They rescheduled my serving on Jury Duty until October of 2010 and wouldn't you know it, I got another camping trip planned for Oct.no

If they want to pay for my ticket to return and attend, I'll be glad to show up but I will not alter my plans to show up in court. JMO
