Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
As I am selling or giving away my possessions, I am also shopping (via internet) for a 28' to 32' TT that will be towed by my Dodge 1500 rated at 9800# capacity. There are a lot of choices but that is the fun part. My question without listing those I have considered...are there any manufacturers that have a poor reputation for quality product? Any that should be avoided, completely? I'm shopping new, btw. Thanks for all and any advice.
Research Research Research, Hit as many chat rooms as you can, search out the name manufactures you are considering, also check this site out http://www.ripoffreport.com/, good luck Gene
You might also consider joining the RV Consumers Group. I think it costs about $100. They rate the different manufacturers and models, and although it's done hands off, they are about the only rating organization I know of.
I must say, that I think there are more building poor quality than good quality out there.
Our previous rig was a Jayco G2 31RKS and we loved it! I would suggest you look seriously at Jayco's as they have been building since 1968, I believe, and have a full 2 year warranty. The Eagle line is nicer than the Jayflight or G2 and have nice features. We had looked for months at most other brands and felt the Jayco gave the most bang for the buck for what we were looking for.
Just my $.02, which may not be worth that much now with inflation..:)
We had a Nomad built by Skyline which also builds other RV lines. The Nomad at the time was an entry level RV but had many features like some of the higher end RVs. The build quality was very good and it looked great. We had it for 12 years without any major problems. It often went offroad (we were involved in offroad racing at the time) and held together well.
Here's their website http://www.skylinerv.com/

I would also look at Sunny Brook. We had a 28 foot Sunny Brook 5th wheel that was a great and well built trailer and am sure their travel trailers are just as well built.
