Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We stayed at Gulf State Park and it was very nice. There are a lot of parks down there, so the choices should be many. I'd check RV Park Reviews for other recommendations.
Rainbow Plantation (Escapees Park) have sites available. They function (as all Escapee Parks) on the first in/ first out rule which means you MIGHT have to leave if they get booked up. They told us you would probably only have to go to dry dock for a few days and then they move you back in. So you might want to check that out.
I agree with Fred....Gulf State Park is really nice and I think you can stay there for extended time. Aside from that there are many parks in that area....not all are inexpensive though.
If you are into crafts and social activities, then Rainbow Plantation is the place you want to be. Their events calendar had 47 activities taking place in the clubhouse each week (there is a lot more outside the clubhouse as well). We have spent the last three winters there and just love all the camaraderie that takes place, plus it is close by Fairhope and Foley which gives you two (count them - two) Walmarts within 10 miles of the campground. Should you show up there this winter, please look us up.

We were in Gulf Shores the last two winters, we did go to Fla for one month. Didn't find any park in Fla as nice as Anchors Aweigh in Foley Ala. Close to everything, great shopping mall less than a mile away. But yet you will feel as if your not close to town. Gulf State park would be our second choice. Anchors Aweigh is a nice park and the owners and managers are awesome. We have many friends there. All pads are concrete, our site #94 was about 90' long. The WiFi is great. And was free for 3 months or so. The only problem is Jan/Feb it will be full, Nov/Dec there should be a site available. I would for sure call. We will be going to Arizona this year for a change and to support Arizona. There are other parks in the area but I think you get what you pay for. GBY....
