Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Janette and Steve were to begin a workkamping gig at Oklahoma City KOA East on the first of May. Today, May 10, Oklahoma City was hit with 4 or 5 tornados, one of which completely demolished the Love's Country Store convenience store at I-40 and Choctaw Road.
The OKC KOA East campground is only about 1 mile north of that intersection. I tried calling out there, but all I get is an answering machine. I will have to try again tomorrow to see if I can reach the KOA to find out how everyone is doing.
I will try with a private message as well.
Should Janette and Steve check in on the forum, perhaps they will see this and respond.

I contacted the KOA campground this morning around 9:00AM and spoke with someone (I'm presuming the owner or manager) who told me that Janette and Steve were just fine.
They reported absolutely no injuries or damage in the campground. That is the way tornados can do. Less than a mile south, there was complete devastation and no damage at all in the campground, even from flying debris.
Janette and Steve are supposed to be on duty around 3:00pm, so I will call again and talk to them personally then.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.
Terry

I contacted Janette at the KOA and talked with her in the afternoon. I mentioned to her that she may not like me, since I was the one that was the first to "welcome" them to Oklahoma, even before they arrived. And, perhaps, I should have warned them off instead.
We visited for a while and I found out that they were doing fine and that the closest damage to them was about 1/2 mile away. The two of them were also instrumental in rounding up the campers in the KOA to get them to shelter for the storm.
Janette informed me that they would be at the KOA until around Labor Day and then they would be going to Florida. (Just in time for hurricane season.) I certainly hope they have better conditions in Florida.

YIPPEEE!HURRAH!! Saw the news story last evening with photos of the Pilot Truck stop in OKC. I know that place, been there. Glad Janette and Steve are alright. Those tornadoes can sometimes cut a very narrow swath but they can jump around in erratic paths. Everyone travelling through north Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and points north throughout the Midwest need to keep a very alert eye on the sky and weather radios this time of year. Having been a cross country trucker for 33 years I've seen my share of violent weather. When we get out on the road, I'll have stories to share. Be safe, don't temp Mother Nature.

Looking forward to retirement and leaving the sticks and bricks behind. Hopefully class of 2017.
What a blessing!! Thanks for letting us know how they are doing. There has been some really awful weather this year with many folks suffering from it. Let's continue to keep them all in our prayers. Hopefully this weather will settle down soon.
