Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Sharing a little news with you all

Hello Everyone,

I'm not new to this website but it's been awhile since I've visited and there's a few big changes in our life that I would like to tell everyone about and would like to hear other people's similar stories.

Our acreage in NW Iowa has still not sold and remains to be a large burden to us as we travel for contract jobs.  It's on the market with a realtor, we had an offer in January fall through and there's been no luck since then.

In December 2009 we had to temporarily move out of our motorhome during the winter season because for awhile I didn't have a contract job and couldn't afford to go South then when I found another job it was in MN so it wasn't until the middle of April we finally were able to move back in.  In March we decided to try and remodel as much as we could of our bus (35' 1964 MCI Challenger Bus) and even had to live in for awhile during construction which was interesting to say the least.  I wish I could show everyone the before and after pictures it's very different in a good way.

The biggest news of them all is we are expecting our first baby this June and we plan on raising her in the bus, hence all the construction.  With the remodel it has been easier for us two to move around even with my growing belly. We got a Graco Pack n Play as her crib and it's all set up ready to go but have quickly run out of room.  We've contimplated selling he bus and getting a fifth wheel however we still can't afford to do that until the house sells and with the remodel we've sort of made it work.  Our goal is to eventually go where ever we would like to go and whenever we'd like to however that probably won't happen for awhile.

Are there others still waiting for their homes to sell?  Do you have to continue to wait for your home to sell until you can begin RVing?  Are there any of you that have gone through their pregnancy living the RV life style as I have?  Have any suggestions...?  We'd love to hear your experiences.  Thanks for reading! smile.gif

sorry I can't really relate to what your going through, kids are all raised and out of the nest.

I have stumbled across a blog you may be interested in though. This couple fulltime in a 5th wheel and travel with his job. They just had their first child.

Congrats on your baby news! Hope your house sells soon and you can fully focus on living your dream.

In addition to this forum, I also follow a group of younger working full-timers (NuRVers.com), and there are a couple of young families in the group who travel with babies and young kids.

One family, originally from Des Moines, has an interesting blog ( http://www.happyjanssens.com/ ).  The wife is a great photographer, and husband has done some nice kid-friendly mods to their motor home!
