Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
In January when I introduced myself, I stated we would be in the class of 2011. Well, 4 months later, the house has sold, we have our rig, I've given notice and we have a camp host gig lined up for the entire summer. Now, it is just a few days until our adventure begins.
Thank you all for sharing your experiences and advice on this forum. Reading through all the posts and receiving feedback on mine really helped steer us in a good direction and accelerate our 1 year plan into a 4 month plan.
We will launch on 5/16 with a 2008 Ford F350 Diesel SRW and 2008 Mobile Suites 32TK3. First stop is a local state park to sort out the last few details about the trailer and then on 5/19 we will leave to begin our camp host duties at our favorite summer rock climbing destination in western Colorado. Though it really isn't far, we are living 3 dreams in 1 - summer at the park, camp host at the park and no obligations to corporate life.
How long will this last? Time will tell and until then, we will enjoy every minute.

How long will it last? As long as you both want it to. When we started full-timing, we said we'd stop when one of us didn't want to do it any more.
That's been 9 years ago, and we're still enjoying the lifestyle.
Good luck,
Jim

Well, congratulations on the dream coming true. Also, congratulations on the Mobile Suites. (We take possession of ours tomorrow.)
Now, the next question is where in western Colorado will you be located? If we can still afford it, we will spend 2 weeks near Pagosa Springs in late August. I'm also wondering where you found your Mobile Suites. (If I remember correctly, I think you sent me a private message one time regarding the used dealer in Elk City, OK.)
Anyway, drive carefully and have fun.
Terry

That's great news, we hope you safe travels. We also have something in common.... You start your new life 5/16 and my birthday is 5/16.

Terry - we did travel to Elk City (as well as other places) and spent a couple hours there and were very close to purchasing one of their stock, but they only had 36's. Our decision really came down to the fact we didn't think a dually was practical for places we would want to park when not pulling. Climbing areas and trailheads have limited space for parking and a dually would be difficult. Then we compared long and hard the Cameo 32FWS vs. MS 32xxx and we kept coming back to the MS for various reasons. We scoured the country and found 4 used for sale and purchased our unit in Lincoln, NE. So far we really like it.
We will be located outside of Rifle, which is north of Pagosa quit a bit and I think there may be a pass or two to cross. If you're up that direction there are a couple nice state parks close that have hookups for $20/night. We will be in Rifle Mountain Park, a city managed park that has been intentionally kept primitive (no electrify or water and vault toilets only) for the 'experience'.
Safe travels.
