Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I found this site and forum from Ken and Nanette's blog "Our Adventure Chronicles".
I'm sure most of you are familiar with their blog. I found it this past Saturday and was riveted for 4 hours reading every word. It was so much that I needed to hear.
For the past year we have felt so trapped here and here is why.....
We had an amazing opportunity in the fall of 2008.
She left her job as an on-site real estate agent and I was laid off from my construction superintendent job. We had the time and money to really travel.
We set out for a 60 day 10K mile journey that changed our lives.
Before we left I told her "this will get it out of our systems or ruin us" (I already hear you all chuckling) Yep, it ruined us. Ruined in a good way. Longing to be out there.
I hope we can be there soon.
It's funny how life changes. There seems to be nothing here for us now. Our long time friends have it seems have turned into acquaintances that we rarely see. The walls of our house seem to be closing in on us.
If anyone reads this I will be posting a very pointed question in the money section and any advice would certainly be appreciated.
Welcome to the forums! Yeah, we were ruined in 1987. We did a short stint of fulltiming from '93 to end of '94. Then we got sidetracked with family issues until 2008 We are now fulltimers..again...and loving it even more. Good luck in your wish to join us all out here!
Haha, I chuckled when read your post. We just got back from the rally (see rally2010), to our first week of work. We both keep saying 'I can't wait to get on the road'. We're both so tired of this stix and brix existence :)
Welcome, and it looks like Howard will need to consider another Forum Topic so that those that are ruined (or are wannabee ruined) can get logged into.
From what you have written, I imagine you already know that there are a lot of knowledgeable folks on the RV Dreams forums.
Glad you are joining us. Looking forward to future postings.
Terry

Welcome to the forum, My parents "ruined" me when I was growing up and I am thankful for them. This lifestyle is not for everyone, but for us, we can't get there soon enough. Enjoy the journey. --mike
