Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Rally is the Maiden voyage

Hi my name is Sherry and I've been dreaming/researching/reading about owning an RV for about 4 years now and just bought a 2004 34' Winnebago Brave 2 slides and hope to be full timing within the next 18 months.

Husband David is coming along. smile

Trip to the rally will be a Brave maiden voyage for all of us.  Need lots of advice about it and what to use as a TOAD.  I'd like to use David's 1996 Honda Accord since it already has the kayak racks and bike racks that are full timing essentials but I fear it's too heavy.

Coming from Charlottesville Virginia the day of the rally.  OUCH.  Stillllll working.............but hopefully not for long.   Ah those dreams.

All advice, direction, gentle nudges, criticism, etc gratefully accepted

Serious bookoholic,  including every book on fulltiming, so I'm not sure what I'm going to leave out to keep my weight under control biggrin No Kindle... or I whatever  disbelief

Sherry - Nice to see that your husband is coming along. Learn to take your time. RVing is also about the journey. Most campers will lend advise or a hand so you are really not alone.

Welcome to the forum, Sherry. smile

Hope you have a good trip to the Rally. Like others have said, take it slow and easy. Learn all you can about your MH before you leave so you know what to do on your trip.

Hopefully you have the manuals that came with your RV so you can read and find out what you need to know about how to operate everything.

Good luck. We'll see you at the Rally.

Jim

Welcome to the forum Sherry...and David too,

Maiden voyage for us also, if all goes as planned.  Looking forward to meeting you at the rally.  I'm sure we will all have fun and learn many things.  Like G said, "nice and easy," especially on I95.

Thanks so much for the welcomes.  Starting early so it can be very nice and easy.  It isn't that bad really as there is only a little I 95.  29 S a nice 4 lane highway all the way through Virginia.   Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Sherry

Hi Sherry and Sometimes David,

We also have a 2004 Brave 32v. We will be at the rally, and will be happy to share any knowledge we have accumulated over the years. Our toad is a Suzuki Grand Vitara with 2 kayaks and 2 bikes. I don't think your Brave would have any trouble towing your Accord but check the Honda's owners manual to see if it can be toad 4 down.

We are looking forward to meeting you and seeing your rig. Just take it slow and remember focus on whats ahead of you and the rest will follow. ;)

Gin

Wow Gene, first time out planning on two 400+ mile days back to back. That's quite ambitious. You may want to think about adjusting that.
