Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Getting Closer...

We have sold some furniture, given bags of stuff to Goodwill, have things listed on craigslist, and I am still scanning photos/documents.   We have boxes of things for a moving sale, things for the 5er and things in the grey area that need to be looked at more closely for keep vs get rid of.

I arranged for better insurance for the 5er, am tweaking our resumes for workamping and actually putting us "out there" to see what might be available for fall.

Fall, you ask?  We have agreed that we are mentally already "outta here" and if something comes our way for this Fall, we will go for it.  In the meantime we are, of course, doing our job as always.

Our work seems to be progressively becoming more stressful for us both just on a daily basis.  In addition, looks like our relief person may be leaving us in May, so we are looking at working 7 days a week again while we hunt for a replacement.

It's a bummer working this job 7 days a week nonstop when you have no end date in sight, as when interviewing for a relief manager.  disbelief

On the other hand, the summers are so dang hot we might as well work and the overtime $$ will just be more for our "launch fund!" biggrin

We have planned several days away in the rig in early April so at least we'll get some time away before our relief guy is gone.  We hope to talk again to some folks workamping where we will be to get some insight as to the job duties, qualifications and possible openings for this Fall.

In summary, we hope to be on the road in August this year or at latest March 2011.

Keep plugging away. Time will pass quickly and, before you know it, this will all be a story you tell others to encourage them.

We have a couple years working yet before we will be able to fully pursue our fulltime dream. However, Having already worked for 25 years for the company, a couple more should pass quickly.
