Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are avid cyclists & are looking down the road for a toad that has an internal bike rack for our bicycles and saw that the Nissan XTerra has that option. We want the toad to be 4 down as they say and it looks like an Xterra with a manual transmission would work. Would appreciate any comments or suggestions.
It does look towable but I do not remember ever seeing one being towed. I confirmed with Motorhome Magazine's guide the 2010 is towable. To get the guide go to Motorhome Magazine's website, scroll down and select "Dinghy Guide 2010" which is a 3MB .PDF file. It is over 4,000lbs so you will need to confirm you can tow that much weight. It looks like Blue Ox has a baseplate for the 2009 but doesn't show one for 2010, but you can call them. I suspect Roadmaster also has baseplates if you prefer a Roadmaster tow bar. Don't forget auxiliary braking.

Thanks, We currently are looking at Motorhomes to go full-timing next year. Since I've never had a toad I have a lot to learn about weight, brakes, etc. We liked the Winnebago Journey 34y with a 340 hp Cummins Diesel engine, 6.7L Turbo. The brochure says it has a trailer hitch 6 (whatever that is) with 10000 lb draw bar/ 500 lb tongue weight.
We are planning to go to the rally next month and I have a ton of questions. Thanks again for your response. By the way, we are still in the exploring stage, and appreciate the candid comments. We think we want our motorhome as small as possible for full timing, as we are planning to camp in many National & State parks. Our thinking at this point is we should stick under 35'. Again, suggestions are welcome.
