Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

A ROOF CLEANING TECHNIQUE WITH GOOD RESULTS

Over the past month I have been working at cleaning and waxing my roof.

I started out using a Scotch Brite No-Scratch nylon/sponge pad and Isopropyl rubbing alcohol on an area of about 12 inches square. I would next use a piece of old towel to wipe up the alcohol and dirt and then later I would go back over a segment of about 2 feet x 3 feet with a Turtle Wax spray on. The results were pretty good.

Today I decided to add some Simoniz Rubbing Compound to the mix of the Scotch Brite sponge and alcohol. The results were almost dramatic. With no more effort than I had expended previously, the countless little black spots easily disappeared. Then I would take a segment of bath towel and wipe up the mess and then later go back an apply the spray on wax.

Just thought I'd pass this along.

Final comment. When I lived in a sticks and bricks house, I never had to do that much work on my roof (grin).

The next time you buy a trailer you might want to look into a TPO vinyl roof. We've been traveling for almost 4 years now and aside from hosing it off a couple of times a year our roof has been absolutely trouble free and no black streaks after rain.

Unfortunately, this is the only motorhome we are ever going to own.  So -- it looks like we are stuck with a roof that needs maintenance.

But your comment might be of help to someone who is looking.
