Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Just in the dreaming phase of this and was looking for information. My older sister and older brother both have 5ers and use them to vacation during the summer. I've garnered much information from them.
While visiting in October, I stayed in my sisters Sunnybrook and I think that is when I came to the realization that, when the DW and I retire, this might not be such a bad way to see the country. I doubt that we would become full timers but we would be able to take our time and see the country at our pace.
In researching, I came across this site and WOW! I've been reading for about 2 weeks now and I know that I'm no where close to done. However, it seems that just about everything that could be asked has been. However, as time for retirement slides closer or things solidify as to the rig we will get, I will probably be asking a lot more.
Howard and Linda have put together quite the community here. The folks make it that much better. I look forward to learning what I can from you fine folks.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Looking at: F-350/Ram 3500 type truck, possibly an Airstream or a smaller 5th Wheel.
However, there is still time to change the configuration, just a plan.
Welcome and well met. I know a few folks who "full time" while owning a house they visit for a couple of months a year. Sounds like you have plenty of time to get sorted out that is good.
Hi Gary, welcome! I'm a relative newcomer to this forum as well. We are also looking at the 2017 - 2018 timeframe, so its good to hear from someone else in the same boat! LOL
Welcome to the forum Gary, and season's greetings to you.
You're right, there's tons of information on this site, and many questions have been asked, but new ones always seem to come up.
One of the best things about this forum is the fact that there are no "dumb" questions here. Everyone knows that when you first start RVing or getting ready to Full-time, questions will come up, and the only way to find the answers is to ask.
So, as you get ready to purchase an RV and get ready to travel, be sure to ask those questions that you'll have. The friendly folks here will do their best to help you.
Jim

Gary, don't ever give up on your dream. We did, and now we are dreaming again in our old age. Hope to be full time sometime in 2010. The sooner the better. We have got to sell the stick house and resign from a job.
