Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Just wondering if any RV Dreamers have been to the Grand Canyon Skywalk? I watched a show this weekend about the construction of the Skywalk & it looked like it might be an interesting place to visit. Then I did some looking around online, and from what I pieced together, seems like it's about $75 per person for this attraction. If you've been there, can you tell me if that's right? Seems awfully pricey!
Haven't been there but looked at going last year. We decided not to go as the weather was bad. As I recall the price you state is about right. I think you have to pay to get on the reserve, pay to park and pay to stand on the glass. Like I said, we didn't go but I recall thinking it was pricey.
I don't remember the details, but do recall reading on other forums that they charge you for everything and it comes out way too expensive for the experience. I'm sure a search on the Escapees or RV Net forums will bring up all the information you need to come to a conclusion.
Dittos on the checked into the skywalk but passed due to the exhorbitant price. For a family of four, the Legacy pass would have been over $160+, then $60+ for the 2 adults and $40+ for the kids (if they would allow our 14 yo to be counted as a 'kid') - way too much and you aren't allowed to take your camera out on the bridge.
The pricing seems about right, too high! Been to Grand Canyons and absolutely loved it but to do the Skywalk thing for that price, IMHO, it is not worth it. Something like that amounts to more of a 'thrill ride' experience than a nature experience in my book. Give me the opportunity to walk their trails any time over walking on air...
Definitely way too pricey for what it is. If you're looking for a real honest to goodness wilderness experience, take in the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and explore all the back-country areas on the park forest roads. Places like Point Sublime and TuWeep are awesome experiences that have very little traffic. You'll need a 4 wheel drive toad to explore these places, but well worth it and the only price for admission is the park entry fee's and if you go to Tuweep, you won't have that either.... 100% FREE!

Besides that, it is no where near the South Rim or the North Rim. It does not look like it is near much of anything else of interest. I would not drive this far out of my way to spend that kind of dollars for one thrill ride.
We took a week-long raft trip through the Grand Canyon last summer. According to our guide, the Skywalk is actually on Indian land in the Lake Mead area. We did not raft under it...it was a ways off to the side of the water at that point...on the afternoon of our last day on the trip. You would get much more from a visit to the North Rim.
