Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Guess I will put a big grin on my face and plunge in here .. we are home based in Washington State. Our two daughters live there, and our two boys are in Ontario, Canada and Virginia.
We started full-timing in May 2004, had a minor set back and didn't set off on the road until in October for the midwest and a volunteer position. Spent almost a year on the road workcamping and volunteering, returned home, that made it Fall 2005. Family situations, etc. kept us in Washington and Oregon states.
Then this past Fall we started out on our Dream Trip across America, and will be returning to our home base 20 months after leaving last October. Enjoying visits to historical sites, aquariums, zoos, and war museums, and especially enjoying the bus tours in major cities. We are not counting on doing this again and mean to enjoy the trip as we go from state to state, now we are on the East Coast in South Carolina.
We are both retired (60s -70s years young now), and enjoy the gypsy way of life these past months. Hope to get in some volunteer work besides Hot Springs AR in February 2010 again. Other than our energy level is not as high as it was 5 years ago, we are still enjoying ourselves as we travel.
For us a travel trailer works best as I have difficulty on some days negotiatiing stairs. Hubby has his CDL, and I do the navigating by going onto rv forum sites for routing and rv park recommendations, plus Good Sam for printed routes. So far we have had a very good trip traveling and staying in commercial rv parks.
The third member of our household is Petunia, our 8 lb. chihuahua who thinks she needs to alert us whenever some one walks by. Then when we are out walking, she is a little quiet lady. She enjoys our visits with friends and relatives when she can run around their yards and play with their dogs.
So there you have it, we are David, Marji and the chi Petunia traveling around in our 30 ft. Alpenlite travel trailer, pulled by a blue Suburban. If you see us, please stop and say hello.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have kids scattered across the country like we do. The full-timing lifestyle sure makes it easier to visit them.

30 Oct and we are in Richmond Hill, Georgia (S of Savannah) and will be going to Starke FL this next week -- from there we will be going towards Georgia - friends in Cartersville and a possible volunteer stint near Atlanta.
Not sure just how many days we will be in Starke, but would like to see St. Augustine -
Then after visiting in Cartersville and Atlanta Georgia, we will be working our way towards Hot Springs, Arkansas where we will volunteer for three months, then heading towards Kansas and/or Colorado and wending out way towards San Diego / Los Angeles / Pismo Beach, California for June/July 2010. In between Atlanta Georgia and Hot Springs has not been pinned down yet, will depend on weather conditions.
