Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We sold the condo August 12, 2009, we signed the closing papers today, September 16, 2009. We are totally debt free and without a home. We have received the monies and Saturday we'll be ordering the Carriage Cameo 36FWS. Now, if we can get everything in order, for instance, the hitch, Pro-tire system, disc brakes, and the small things for the truck/5er, we can possibly be on the road by December. We have a six month lease on an apartment which was a great thing to do because I still have so much more to get sold or dump. We can break the lease in three months.
We should have our 5er in eight weeks. We'll be moving to Moncure, NC while Jim works for a month (or less) then we'll do trips on weekends for shakedown. We're not certain of the time we'll be on the road for good, but March 1, 2010 we'll be in Rockport, TX, the Last Resort for our first outing with the RV-Dreamers get together.
Thank you to everyone that's been so supportive in selling the condo. That was very hard to give up and a lot of attached feelings. It's been good to us for the past 12 years, but it's time to move on to our retirement days.
See you down the road. Jim & Dee

Great Dee!! We are very excited for you and Jim. I know you both have been working very hard to make this happen. I am jealous that we are still stuck, working for a few more years, but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hope it is not a train!!!!

Congratulations!!!! We know the feeling of relieve when you finally have the closing. So glad things worked out for you all. We sold/closed August 14th and have been fulltimers since August 18th. We have spent a month in a campground near where we lived getting things in order and finishing doctor appointments etc. We should pull out of here tomorrow.
Great news Dee. I hope we can meet on the road sometime, it is a long way from the west coast of British Columbia to North Carolina but maybe we can meet up somewhere in the middle! All the best to you and Jim.

Congratulations! I can't wait for the closing on our place. I've still got some remodeling to finish before we can put it on the market but the thought of closing day keeps me working at getting things ready.
Congratulations, We have been trying to market our acreage on our own for 5 months with little success. Signed contract with Realtor today, hope to be right behind you. We already have our rig so all we have to do is hit the road when it sells. It's good to hear property is starting to move.

Congratulations Dee and Jim. I know you are really, really excited. I have been following your blog and chatting with you in the chat room and know you have been looking forward to this special time. It is wonderful to be debt-free and soon you will be free of a lot of stuff. We share your excitement as we were there a couple of years ago. I looks like you are considering some good options for your trailer. I looked up the Cameo 36 FWS it looks like it will be a very nice and roomy home for you both. Wishing you the best.

We ordered the Carriage Cameo, 36FWS on September 19, 2009. We should be fulltime by December. The exact date will be given to us later. I'm hoping to quit work in December. I may have to help out a bit, but not four hour days like I'm doing now. I'll go in once or twice a week for 6-7 hours. It won't be long we'll be meeting up with everyone on the road.
