Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Congrats S.Q. !!!!!!! I hope you enjoy your new camper as much as we have absolutely loved ours. From what I have read, you get a few cool upgrades for 2011 that I didn't have, like balanced wheels and LED exterior tail and side lights! Let us know all about it when you get a chance. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Just purchased a 2011 32MKS here in Ottawa, Canada. Looking forward to using this forum to learn all I can about the trial & tribulations of this new RV manufacturer.
Thanks to all who have taken the time to write up your experiences thus far.
Darwin P.S. Looking forward to pickin' my Martin guitar under the awning of this unit! :)
Thanks Mr P. ! We are heading out early in the morning to go to MI and pick up the new TT. Need to run out and adjust my Silverado's tire pressure, I've heard they should be bumped up when towing...

I bought a 2010 25 RB. In sept 09. The interior is excellent quality and the rear bath with full shower is a dream. Everlite needs to improve on the exterior quality control. The first time it rained ,the roof leaked and ruined the mattress and water stained the cabinets. It also flooded the storage area. Rain water also seeped into the access door for the external shower. Then into the bath. It was not properly caulked. The caulking is already craked and leaking on all external items markerlights ,water connections, cable ,etc. They need to use a better caulk. The exterior propane quick connect is already regulated and can not be used on coleman type appliances unless you bypass the internal regulator.Overall a great rv. It tows very well
I haven't used the gas line hook up yet and didn't know it couldn't be used with a coleman stove. In fact, I thought that was what it was there for? How did you fix it so you could use the stove?
I bought my 31DS in Sep of 09 as well so they were likely made the same month, possibly even the same week! I noticed the self leveling caulk around the roof on top was a little thin so I re-did it and haven't had any problems. We have been camping through 2 very heavy rains without the issues you have described. Have you contacted the company about this? You should be under warranty and they should verify and if needed, re seal your entire camper. ESPECIALLY since they claim to water test every unit individually.
I did notice that the caulk around the storage doors and other vertical surfaces was caulked with clear silicone type caulk rather than a product like "Dorco" caulk. Was that what caused your problems?
Just genuinely curious, were the exterior lights that got wet inside even caulked at all?
When your mattress got wet, I am guessing the water came through the fan vent? One tip, we installed "Maxxair" vent covers over all three roof openings which may be why we haven't had a leak yet.
Also, your concern about the storage compartment getting wet is surprising given the way the channel is made around the door. I would really like to hear from you as you get to the bottom of the causes of your water problems as I hope not to suffer the same fate. As mentioned above, I thought the caulking around the black trim ring around the storage door was inadequate an re-sealed it with a thicker bead of clear silicone and so far so good.
Thanks so much for your post and please let us all know how you resolve your water problem.
Mr. Piper, Have not taken delivery , due in this week, but I think that I can ans the ques abt the gas line. I understand that it is T from the regulator on the tanks, this is the proper manner for it to be done. It is that way on my boat. To operate my gas grill on the boat and what I plan to do on the EVERGREEN is to remove the regulator on the gas grill and use a quick connect fitting from the rubber line that is plugged into the gas outlet on the rv, this is off the shelf hardware from any good hardware store. As I mentioned on EVERGREEN OWNERS LIST, I suggest a LOCAL store and not a big box. I unscrewed the regulator from my rv bar b q this week and will pick up the fittings to match it and the outlet on the rv when it comes in. The gas is not going to flow thru two regulators. CCC
Mr Piper, The only way to use the propane connection is to disconnect the regulator from the appliance you are using. I dont want to do this as I might want to use it with the dispoable canisters also. As for the leak ,it was on the very front of the cowling on roof , and leaked down through into the closet the onto mattress. The caulking is poor quality on marker lights and I have already replaced two bulbs from rusting.Thanx Ward
We are on our maiden cruise with our EVERGREEN 31 RLS first nt out. Great thing about rv that is different from boating is that in the morning, one wakes up in EXACTLY the same place as you went to sleep. Significant. If one must 'rough it" this is the way to do it. CCC
Sorry guys that I have not posted in some time. Our trip to Michigan was great, except the Chicago road construction. :) We camped in Northern Indiana on the way back and it was great. In regards to leak problems, we have had absolutely none. It poured the first night out, and all the way back to Iowa the next day. Back through Chicago it was raining so hard it looked like fog. We have camped 3 times since back in Iowa, and have just had a great time. Love this 2011 31DS a lot. Need to run, but hope to get back with you all asap. Charles, will try to get involved in the other forum, just been so darn busy with lots of things and frequent other forums from my other interests. :)

I have a 2010 25 RB. I am not very happy at this point. The latest problem is the moniter panel giving false readout. Upon returning from latest trip, I was cleaning Rv and cleaning the back water tank. The monitor showed I had 75% full black , 100 % grey, 75% fresh. This was wrong! Everything was empty. I had to remove the panel and fuse . Then it reset. It still shows I have 25% black. Next failure was the black vinyl insert on trim at front of Rv. It popped out of the black metal trim and I had a 10 foot section of the vinyl flopping as I was going down the road. Check out my other problems ( rain water leaks , etc ) on other posts. Thanx Varmit
Varmit, you have some legit problems but the tank monitors are not one of them. There is not a rig out there, no matter the cost where the monitors are correct.Just an RV fact of life. You will soon learn to be a good judge of how full your tanks are just like the rest of us

Varmit, You made the same post to our EVERGREEN LIST ,look back several weeks and you will see a post by me on how to RESET the tank monitors without disassemly of the wall unit or anything else. Press a couple of bottons, drain and fill the tank.
Heading out tomorrow to a nearby lake for a weekend of camping. We have had ton's of bad weather the last month, with high humid heat. This weekend looks nice. Can't wait to get the Everlite again.
The only problem is my battery is dead, even though we thought everything was turned off. The only thing I can think of is I noticed a little red button last week that was on below the tv compartment where the antenna plugs in...I pushed it in and it went off, along with the surround/radio lights. It must be pretty dead as it is not registering on my battery charger tonight, great...

I had someone tell me this once and I almost believed them. I am stubborn and refused to believe that Monaco would put sub-standard gauges in the tanks. Rather than repost here I will point you to my blog where you can read how I attacked this problem and now have gauges that read correct all the time.
Will my method work for everybody? Probably not. In some cases the gauges might actually be broke in some fashion. But before giving up at least try attacking the problem and do a good cleaning of the tank.

Randy, if you have a buiilt in radio even if it is OFF it is drawing power. Probably the same for the tv booster or whatever that is.
This is the same on your car, leave it for a month or so and good chance your battery will be dead from "phontom" draw of current.
For instance, when we leave in the EVERGREEN on the 1st I disconnect the positive cable at the battery on the car that we leave at home, if not it will have a dead battery.
That is the reason many have a battery disconnect swithch at the battery bank of the rv.
Kiddies, we left Louisiana on July 1 for points north to find cooler weather. Finally found it this week ( 5th week out) and over 3,700 miles. We are in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The TT and we are doing great, learning the ropes so to speak. No problems, knock on wood. One thing I plan to do is add an outside antenna for the radio.
We are satisfied with the unit and hope it continues!!
Me again. :) Well we have been really enjoying our 31DS. Just had a little problem I need to figure out though. Decided to flush the black tank the other day after camping. First I cleaned out the blank tank, followed by the gray tank as usual. The RV guy told me some people flush out the black tank every trip, which pisses some people off waiting in line so I figured I would wait after 3-4 trips.
Anyway, I had a 10 foot old piece of hose that I rigged up just for this purpose. I opened the black tank valve and turned on the water at the dump station, which I had hooked to the black tank flush hookup. Water was spraying out each end of the hose. I just figured I didn't have the little worm screw clamps tight enough, but figured enough water was probably getting into the tank. I let it run for about 4-5 min. then turned the water off and unhooked the hose.
Here is where I got a little pissed off, sorry...I noticed water was kinda draining from multiple locations under the trailer back near where I was working. I thought that was a little strange. About that time another camper pulled up behind us so I pulled ahead to let him have his turn.
As I pulled away I noticed a trail of water behind the trailer on the road. So we went inside the trailer and water was all over the bathroom floor, inside the little bathroom cabinet vanity that has the pump and switches, and even kinda ran into the bunk area in the back corner. what the heck is going on here?
We dried it all up with towels, and then headed home, but this drives me crazy. I don't know if I did something wrong, or if something is plugged or whatever. Maybe something is not hooked up right in the plumbing for the black tank flush?
any help would be appreciated...Randy

Oh yes, Evergreen Everlite is a new company that just started shortly after the US Economy issues and when Pilgram closed up. The trailer was purchased in MI and we live in IA, but I plan to still call them. At the time there was no dealer within 300 miles that could even come close on the deal we got...

They showed one of the Evergreen RV's on the RV 2010 show from the Hershey PA. show. Looked like a nice rig. I was surprised even the LP tanks were made out of recycled material.

I've been following this thread with great interest, as I'm considering a purchasing a TT for full time use. The light weight of the Evergreen TTs appeal to me, but one thing concerns me. I've heard (from Escapee and other sources) that most full-timers need about 3,000 lbs of carrying capacity for all the worldly goods of 2 people (more if you like to boondock and need to add another 800lbs or so of batteries, solar panels, generator, etc.) Since the 31DS model only has a carrying capacity of 1627 lbs according to their website (I'm sure the real world cargo capacity is much less when loaded with all the neat to have options), how do you full-time Evergreen owners get around this severe weight restriction?
Thanks for your help,
Chip

We too have wondered about how much weight capacity is necessary vs how much we'd prefer, and I suspect we'll meet in the middle.
We're waiting for our (also lightweight) Earthbound TT (Golden Ridge) to be finished. In theory we have 1247 pounds of "stuff poundage" to play with, but we'll see what that turns into after recalculating once our 3 solar panels and 4 batteries are added into the mix. We're going on the basis of 1000 pounds available.
Our dining room has been turned into our TT staging area. We have the "not optional" side and the "if we have to, we could edit" side of the room. We have always been way overboard with stuff in our lives, and frankly, cutting back seems great (at the moment!)
I guess we can tell you in a month if it's do-able in theory, and a bit later if it's do-able in fact!
Another model I have been considering is the Slingshot by Crossroads. Unfortunately there are none in stock at any of our local dealers for us to actually look at and evaluate. On paper, they look nice for our intended use, but so did the Trailmanor until we actually got to tour them and found them totally unsuitable for us. The 28 ft. Crossroads GT27RB model weighs in at under 4,000 lbs yet has over 3,000 lbs of carrying capacity making it more suitable for fulltiming. It looks like one of the more practical 1/2 ton towable units out there. At slightly over 4,000 lbs, their 30 ft GT29BH with a similar load capacity, looks suitable too - at least on paper.
With about 2,500 lbs of carrying capacity, the 5,000 lb Keystone Bullet 278RLS appears to be a solid 1/2 ton conteder for a FT rig too. I really like its floorplan and the bigger water and waste tanks, but would rather a shower stall like the 288RLS rather than a tub. I just don't know if the 33ft 288's 1900 lb carrying capacity would be enough. The under 20k street price is attractive too. I guess everything's a compromise.
Our Cedar Creek is rated at 2350 lbs carry capacity which in reality was around 1900. We are loaded with more than we need for fulltime and are not over weight. Travel patterns and outside activities have a lot to do with what you carry. We always use full hookups so have no need to carry much water in the fresh water tank. We don't go boating or bike riding so don't carry that. Most of our reading is done on line or by using book exchanges at campgrounds so carry minimum books.A lot of capacity is nice but can be worked around if needed.

RVing probably not a reality any more.It was a good time while it lasted.
I'm trying to do my homework here, by adding up all the things I'll be carrying to determine what I'll actually need when I start to full-time. First looking at the actual weight stickers on trailers on dealers lots and comparing them to the manufacturer's advertised weight, they are typically 150-200lbs heavier. I believe this is due to options not included in their advertised weight, such as: 15k a/c vs 13.5k, 30 gal propane tanks, enclosed underbelly, spare tire, awning, spare tire, electric jack, etc.
Now add 383 lbs of fresh water (40gal.+ 6gal hot water x 8.34 lbs/gal), 60 lbs propane, and 100lbs of batteries. Add the contents of your fridge (6 cf at 5 lbs/cf avg load= 30 lbs), a full ice chest & pantry = 100 lbs (more if you buy your sundries at Sams, buy beer and wine by the case, etc.), clothes (3- 60lb suitcases worth (2 for DW) = 180lbs - probably a light estimate), linen, pillows & towels = 50 lbs., kitchen appliances (ie. toaster, blender, cusinart, rice cooker, ice maker, coffee maker) = 65 lbs, kitchen utensils, plates, glassware, knives & pots and pans = 150lbs - (though this may seem like a lot, this is less than 1/4 of my home kitchen, since I'm a pro chef), toiletries = 5 lbs, medical supplies, vitamins drugs, etc. = 5lbs, cleaning supplies and chemicals = 10 lbs., 2 folding chairs = 10lbs, floor/door mats = 10lbs, screen rooms/tentage = 15 lbs, toys (like bikes, hobby and sporting equipt., 2 scooters, etc. 500 lbs but will keep in back of truck so 0lbs), TV/DVD/satellite equipt., stereo = 100lbs, computers (1 laptop and 1 desk top) 55lbs, portable heaters & gas = 20 lbs, generator/spare gas (200lbs but carry in truck) = 0, sewage and leveling gear = 15 lbs, foam mattress topper 70lbs. BBQ grill/fuel 30lbs, tools, spare parts, etc. (300 lbs but will carry in truck) = 0lbs, misc. missed items such as riding gear, weapons and ammo, gardening tools, pet supplies, cages, camping gear, books etc. = 200lbs.
Totaling this short list I get 1,863 lbs. rounding it up to 2,000lbs of advertised carrying capacity, this seems an absolute minimum without adding all those nick nacks, souvenirs and gadgets we all accumulate over time. This confirms my suspicions that the 3,000lb reports from experienced FTers are pretty accurate. I guess one could get by with less if they loaded more into their TV. But in my case, I'd have to eliminate 1,000 lbs of scooters, tools and generator from my truck bed in order to do so.

Just a note that all weight must be considered. You can't discount weight just because it's in the bed of the truck. I know when I was shopping for a FW and truck I was confused about all the weights and towing capacities. There are some experts on the forum here who can explain it better than me.

Yes, I understand that the truck's total GRVW cannot be exceeded, regardless of the recommended tow rating. Actually, from what I understand, the truck's GRVW limit is a legal limit (which you could be cited for exceeding) whereas the manufacturers recommended tow rating is not.
With these light-weight trailers weighing in at around 7,000-7,500lbs fully loaded combined with 800-1000lbs in the bed, another 500-700 lbs in tongue weight (on a WD hitch) this should be barely adequate for most 1/2 ton's GRVW. Naturally all trucks have a little different specs, but a typical 6.2l Silverado with a 4.1 axle ratio and a tow package usually has between 6400-7000lb GVWR. If the truck weighs in at say 5,000lbs this gives you 1,400-2,000lbs load capacity for the tongue, bed and passenger weight. These are typically rated to tow about 10,000lbs, so if you subtract 1,400lbs of bed and passenger weight you are left with 8,600 lbs of remaining tow capacity which should be more than adequate for the task at hand.
Obviously this could easily be beyond the capacity of an older 1/2 ton, or one with a smaller engine that's not set-up for towing. In either case, you're probably better off going to a 3/4 ton if you tow a lot, rather than using your 1/2 ton near its capacity most of the time. For limited use, say 500-1,000 miles of towing a month, you should be fine with a maxed out 1/2 ton, as long as you slow down on the steepest grades, avoid bad cross winds and generally use good common sense. IMHO.

Just know that you are not alone. I read your postings. I own a 2010 29FK Everlite by Evergreen RV. I've had the same problems as you. Leaking roof - (was not caulked adequately at all on roof) ruined our front kitchen cabinets after only owning the brand new RV for a very short time. Then water leaking into the front pantry from around the awning arm. We put MaxAir vents on all rooftop air vents. The problems were repaired. Then on a 6-day driving trip into the States, same problem as you described, we had a huge problem when the bottom of the RV (black cardboard like material on the bottom of the trailer) became unattached at the front of the trailer, so it acted like a big air scoop while driving. We were unaware until we pulled into a campsite that night, and started washing down our RV only to find the bottom material had come out of the metal strip at the front. Another day wasted on our vacation as we tried to fix this. We were nowhere near a dealership and quite frankly, after all the trouble we had, we figured we'd fix this ourselves. Then at least we know it'll be done right.
Then another camping trip a month later not far from home, only to notice that while it's raining, there's water coming in from our slide onto the floor in our bedroom area. Good grief. The storage tanks on our unit are also reading incorrectly, even though for almost the first year, they did read correctly.
Someone else said one of their shower head parts broke off - so did ours. I give up. We still love our RV and thought the workmanship and quality of interior finishes was better than normal, but with all the problems thus far, we're starting to wonder if our purchase was all it was cracked up to be. We still get a lot of compliments on our RV - people in campgrounds are impressed, but we don't tell them about all the problems we've had.
I feel for you. Had any trouble with your awning? We had to have the first one replaced, as it was bubbling within a week after we got it. Now the second awning, not bubbling - but now it seems to be misaligned when you try to put it back in. We've been able to manoeuver it around and get it back in each time, but it's on the growing list of things the dealer is going to have to look at when we take it in for service next week.
At one point, I was considering an Evergreen Fifth Wheels until I had the opportunity to actually see one.
To me, it looked cheap, just slapped together, the spot under the oven looked like someone saw the opening and said "Dang, what do we do with that?" and slapped a piece of plywood there.
I wasn't impressed with the build quality at all. It's a great idea and I hope that they get their quality in their 5ers fixed. I can buy a higher quality unit for about the same price. Yeah, I'll need a bigger truck but I'll pay that price.

Dreaming and doing the homework necessary.
Looking at: F-350/Ram 3500 type truck, possibly an Airstream or a smaller 5th Wheel.
However, there is still time to change the configuration, just a plan.
Purchased the unit in late May and left on an extended trip July1 after a 10 day shakedown cruise.
Today is Sept 10 and we have put on over 8,000 miles. Pulled into South Sioux City, Neb this pm.
So far we are very impressed with the unit and have experienced no problems, OH, one, a string on one of the window shades was broken when delivered and the dealer has a new shade for us when we return from this trip in late Oct. I called one day about the c o monitor that kept sounding and no c o and no propane leak. I pulled the fuse and allowed it to reset and that was the end of that problem.
We have experienced some terrific rains and winds----winds in North Dakota and South Dakota are high as in 30-45 for days. These were experienced both while parked and traveling. During travel no sway at all even with cross winds, I attribute this to the light weight of the TT and the 4 Poing EQUALIZER hitch attached to my Ford F 250.
If I were purchasing today I would get the "Canadian" option with the dual payne windows and the like. We did get the larger a/c and it works well.
We like the feature that allows us to use the bathroom and the refrig withOUT having to open the slide----did that today as we traveled way further than usual and had lunch onboard on the road in a parking lot. By the way, when we were looking at TT's this was a non negotiable feature that we must have.
Hello i as well bought a ever-lite 31rb i like it for the most part but i can say the couch in my rv is junk it it is veryloud when your sit on it you cant sleep on it everytime u move it makes noise.. over all it is OK
Main, When I read this to THE WIFE she said the sofa does not make noise and then tried it 3x in different places on it. No noise, we suggest that you take the unit back to the dealer and have it checked. We have a 31 RLS serial no. 911, the sn denotes the total no of units built. I am sure that EVERGREEN does not build the sofa and pur it fr a vendor.
If you get a chance can you read my thread in this section about my black tank flush problem. I know you have a 31DS and you might be able to help me figure this out. :)
Greetings, We just returned from our big maiden cruise in our 31RLS, Serial NO. 911. ( That is the 911th rv built by EVERGREEN, it is the last numerals in the serial no.) We were on the road for four months and put over 10,000 miles on the truck and a bit over 7,000 on the EVERGREEN. The whole rig performed beautifully, experienced 35-40 mph winds in North and South Dakota for days on end the TT never swayed a bit up and down the mountains, ok to some of you westerners those are not mountains but we are from the Gulf Coast and that makes a difference.
We had two minor problems, one was one of the window shades, the string broke! The other was when we turned on the furnace the gas alarm sounded time and again and I knew that there was no gas leak. I pulled the fuse for a minute or so and then replaced it, Bingo. I guess that the chip needed to be "readdressed"!
The Ford F 250 SuuperCab did a yoeman's job of pulling and we are quite satisfied with the gas engine. In talking to others and their mileage , our 10 mpg up to 11 on occasion pulling is just fine. When not pulling get abt 15 mpg.
We followed the 2-2-4 = two hundred miles, 2 pm or 4 hours which ever comes first. As a rule we were at our destination by lunch. Our average pulling day was 151 miles for the trip.
Over the winter we plan several local trips in La, Texas and Fla. until spring when we head to Alaska.
We do have an EVERGREEN OWNERS Group see address below.
By the way, Bluegrass Picker, we did 8 days at the Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival in Guthrie, OK and then immediately down to Arkansas, for the Turkey Track Bluegrass Festival, two weeks of music.
Greetings, We just purchased a 2011 31RLS here in Arkansas. Getting it ready for 3 mos. in Az. We will pull it with a 2005 Nissan Titan. Will let you know how we do after we get on the road.
BTW, we are heading to Jekyll Island for the week between Christmas and New Years 2010. Bike riding, Bluegrass festival and of course lot's of grilling. We will report back when we return.
Latest Ever-Lite thoughts...
Our mattress is now about 2 years old. It is being relocated to a nearby dumpster. I do understand that they are using a better mattress with springs now and while I did call the dealer and ask if there was a resolution for the wallowed out mattress, and while they DID offer to make an adjustment, I just decided to buy a nice queen sized pillow top air mattress with built in pump for about $60.00 and be done with it. The new mattress with a nice "egg crate" and mattress pad on top is very warm and comfy and we are good to go.
We have spent nearly 50 nights in our 31DS since purchase.
It still looks brand new. (we do keep it covered with an "ADCO" cover when not in use) We still get questions, requests for a tour, and admirers in every campground. We are still VERY glad we chose this brand and HIGHLY recommend them for overall value and features.
Something else that hasn't been addressed, we bought a very inexpensive (about $50.00) 2 piece sectional bike rack for the rear bumper and it has worked great. We travel with three bikes but we just park the other one inside and bungee cord it in place.
The reason I mention this is that we have driven 1000's of miles with bikes attatched to this 4 point, 2 piece bike rack with no problems with bikes, rack or bumper. In our old camper we tried a standard 1 point bike rack and a reciever hitch adapter on the bumper and our bumper got bent 25degrees. Spreading the weight across the entire back of the bumper seems to be the trick.
We signed up for Virgin Mobile last month because of the unlimited aspect. Now it's limited unlimited...just received this today:
Click here if you are unable to see the images in this email.
Hey Deborah, Here at Virgin Mobile, our mission is to deliver an outstanding customer experience. Sometimes that means making difficult choices in order to provide the best possible service to the greatest number of customers.
To make sure we can keep offering our $40 Unlimited Broadband2Go Plan at such a great price, we're putting a speed limit in place for anyone on that plan who uses over 5GB in a month.
How will it work? Starting February 15, 2011, if you go over 5GB in a month on the $40 Unlimited Plan: Your data speeds will be limited for the remainder of the monthly plan cycle. During this time, you may experience slower page loads and file downloads and lags in streaming media. Your data speeds will return to normal as soon as you buy a new Broadband2Go Plan. This change will only affect plans bought on or after 2/15/2011. How will it affect me? Keep in mind, 5GB is A LOT of data. To give you an idea, it's about 250 hours of web browsing or over 500,000(!) emails*. So this change shouldn't affect you unless you're a heavy downloader/streamer/etc.
How will I know if I'm getting close to 5GB? We've updated the progress bar in your Connection Manager to show the amount of data you've used. If you go above 5GB in a month, the bar will turn yellow, letting you know your data speeds will be reduced until you buy a new plan.
By putting this speed limit in place, we're making sure we can deliver the same quality service you've come to expect from Broadband2Go. We hope you understand.

Well, I began this thread when we purcased our Ever Lite 31DS in September of 2009. Our exciting new 2010 31-DS is now obsolete as the new 2011 version is out and new and improved with a deeper slide, a space saver shower curtain, a mattress with springs in it (who thought a mattess without springs was a good idea?) L.E.D. lighting and several other upgrades to reward those who chose to wait a little while and see how this new experiment would work out. We who bought the 2010's are the pioneers who recognize and embrace the chance to get out ahead of the crowd and grab life while it's still fresh and alive. At this point I just wanted to add my final thoughts.
We have spent about 60 or so nights in this RV. It's had a full shake down and all of the bugs that need to be worked out have been exterminated. The very worst of the problems were minor and if we had it to do all over again, we would buy the exact same camper on the exact same day and enjoy building memories with our family to last a lifetime in all of the wonderful places we have been. Destin, FL - Disney World Ft. Wilderness - Cloudland Canyon - Chattanooga KOA - Jellystone Campground Bremen GA - Unicoi State Park - Enota Mountain Retreat - Jekyll Island and so many more. We have always kept a log of every day we have ever spent in an RV and I wish I could share all of the laughter an memories with you all, but it's better if you get out there and build your own.
This thread was an attempt to share with friends about a new product and new company and to learn together and hopefully help each other as we sove the inevitable hiccups that occur when you put a house on wheels and bump and shake it down the road at 65 miles an hour across America. I have learned from your posts, and I hope you have learned something of value from mine.
Last words:
I would HIGHLY recommend 3 Way Campers here in Ga. They have been amazing in not only delivering our camper, but in customer service after the sale that is so far above the crowd it's hard to describe. When our power jack quit, they brought the new one to our home 40 miles away so we wouldn't have to drive all the way there to pick it up! They care about their customers and if they didn't sell this brand, I would buy whatever they have and recommend. They are the absolute best.
Evergreen RV has met our expectations. We are VERY pleased with the quality, affordability, features, functionality, warranty coverage and family fun this company sells. It is our sincere wish that they prosper and succeed for many years to come serving the RV industry to give families like ours the opportunity to share time together and experience our great country and God's creation with all the creature comforts of home.
Thanks for reading and God bless you all and keep you safe in your travels.
Thanks for the thread. I've followed with interest since buying our 2010 Ever-Lite 31RB in Sept 09. We have enjoyed it during a snowstorm in Birmingham, AL and a sunny 80 degree day in Fairbanks, AK and everything in between. Three Way Campers and Evergreen have been great to work with whenever we had an issue.

Evergreen Ever-Lite 31RB
We just bought a 2011 Evergreen 33QB. I looked at these two years ago, and they got my attention. I had just purchased a Airstream so I decided to hold off. I recntly sold the Airstream (over rated) and purchased the Evergreen.
I will pick it up Monday and see how it tows. I may take it to FL from CT on it first trip. I will then place it in my campground as a rental to certain clients, yup a cost effective way to use it.
I'll let you know how it holds up to our expectations,as the Airstream didn't.
Evergreen RV is a brand new company with an industry changing plan. We were so impressed with the floorplans and features that we actually purchased this one before it even arrived at the dealer. We saw one of the other models and he told us about this one being on order to arrive in a couple of weeks. We loved the floorplan and all of the other features so much that we bought it on the spot and waited for it to be completed and delivered.
Cons: 4.) Had the dealer call the factory to verify this. The fabrics are not "Scotchguarded" or any other protector applied. This is no problem. We spent $20.00 for a few cans of high quality scotchguard and took care of all seating surfaces, but buyers need to know this in advance. The interior is very beautiful and we don't want a "Koolaid" motif in the future because of the fabric not being protected.

I just wanted to make a point: scotchguard is HIGHLY toxic, and would not be considered a "green" product. the evergreen company makes a point about being a green rv, so this is why they would not use it. It's considered poisonous, and a neurtoxin. It's one reason i am considering the evergreen. I am trying to keep the chemicals out of my kids!
While Scotchgard got a questionable reputation in the past when it was a "C8 based Perflouro" chemical, the product used today is C4 based and does not build up in the human (or other bioform) body. Likely the greatest risk from the product these days is from the solvent / propellant involved in application which dissipates and evaportates rather quickly. I found the risk versus koolaid to be acceptable
Here is an article that might be of interest on this subject:
I was curious how well your TV worked (Nissan Titan) with your 31DS? We have a 08 Nissan Titan PRO4X (rated at 8999 LBS) and was curious how well it would work with the 31' Ever-Lite Trailer. I do have Firestone Air Bags as well a WD system on my current trailer (17' Casita) but its weighs almost nothing compared to the Ever-Lite. Looking to pull the trigger here soon on the Ever-Lite but originally considered the 27 due to weight. If the 31 works well for you I may go that route.
A good place to ask that question is on our EVERGREEN LIST for owners and wannabees.
The hot link in my signature box will take you to the Yahoo site and just sign up.
I have a 31RLS but pull with a Ford F 250, that will pull almost anything!
Anyway, the 31 is a light TT for it's size and we took it to Alaska last summer, 18,000 miles and 25 weeks. Pulled great. The summer before all throught the Dakotas and Nebraska etc, with 30 mph winds day in and day out. Again no problem with sway or anything like that. We use an EQUALIZER brand hitch, of course you know that a wt distribution hitch is necessery.

Appreciate it - let me know. -Jesse
Jesse,
We just turned 100,000 miles on our 04 Durango Hemi 5.7 tow rated over 7,500 lbs. We have spent about 26,000 of those miles towing and so far have had no problems whatsoever. Fully loaded, we weigh in around 6,300lbs. on the trailer.
