Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Painting exterior trim

Lovely Pennsylvania. furious Meteorogist, the only job in the world where you can be wrong 90% of the time and not get fired.  It wasn't suppose to rain for the next 5 days, just be partly cloudy. blankstare We decided to give our ole' girl a fresh coat of paint on the large trim piece that runs completely around the middle of our coach.  We got it taped off, scrapped, scratched and then proceded to spray it with a nice shade of hazelnut brown semi-metallic paint we had left over when we did my old wagoneer.  Got it finished and guess what?  It decides to rain.  cry Atleast it was dry, just not cured.  So here we set back in the old house, watching it poor buckets and keeping our fingers crossed.  Hopefully when the rain stops (if it ever does  !#*&) it will be okay.  Sometimes I swear the gods are against us.  Murphy (Murphy's Law) was an optimist. disbelief Or as the use to sing on Hee-Haw "If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all..." aww Oh Well!  I'd I ask the question "What else could be fall us?"  but it might just make things worse. no I'm going to go have a good laugh now... It beats crying. ashamed

The next couple of days look wet, if the paint skinned over you should be ok. G

It cured in time. Our local weather comes from WNEP 16 out of Scranton area. We live about 3 hours away (west). The nearest town to us is 22 miles away and a drop in elevation of about 1300 feet, so it seems never predictable. It can be snowing here and 3 miles down the road (mountain) it will be raining. I am so looking forward to a much warmer climate. Only a few months to go, and hopefully we will be on our way to FL for the winter. A friend of ours stopped by today and we made plans for a road trip to the wine country near Senaca Lake, NY for the end of September. Six of us and 2 pussy cats in the MH, the husband offered to be the DD for the trip. Then hopefully not too long after that we can head south. Just having trouble trying to sell my antique Jeepster to get the money to buy a trailer to haul our Harley. We would even be willing to trade even up for an enclosed trailer (horse, cargo or otherwise). Can't put an add in the paper again, our telephone and internet will be shut off in about a week (along with our TV), so another friend of ours is letting us park it at his place where more people will see it. Hopefully someone will see it and make us an offer. I really didn't want to part with it, the darn little thing gets about 20 mpg, runs great, goes anywhere and with antique plates it never needs inspected and you only have to pay a one time registration fee of $120 for life. But the paint on our MH really did turn out nice, except for the body style she doesn't look her age. :) I will try to check in a couple of times a month via wi-fi at a neighbors.

Oh I hope your Jeepie sells soon. I had a big ole woody Jeep Grand Wagoneer and loved the heck outta it. 4WD on the fly with a switch on the dash, leather seats, and enough room to haul a bunch of squawking teenager girls to cheerleading or a crew of stinky boys to baseball practice. The frame rusted through on mine, so we had to junk it. (Wisconsin road salt)

Sorry, I don't need another vehicle right now, or I would love to have it!

Hi Karen- I actually had two Grand Wagoneers. Both were 84's and loaded. One was the luxury edition and the other was what I liked to call "brute force and ignorance". We had a fire and I blew up the engine trying to get it away from the fire (it was on its way out anyhow) and the other I sold to a friend of my sons who desperately needed transportation. But yes, I have an affinity for old Jeeps and Mopars. I always understood why the Military liked them too. "Giggle" I checked out your site on weaving, I too am a bit creative, not as good as you. I use to make renissance costumes, paint and such. I also was into organic herbs. I really like what you two did with your coach it looks good. I hope we meet up on the road someday, I am quite sure we have a lot more things in common. Ann
